Barbara and Joan.... Don't be too upset. Each of us lose weight at our own pace. Ask your self ...Am I getting in my water, how about portein? Do I need to get a little more walking in? You would be surprised if you just up these things what it will do....I too was discouraged when I wasn't dropping the weight like I thought I should be. Also remember some of us start out weighing more than others, so it seems to come off a little faster for them. Don't give up....God gave us this tool now we must work with it. WE CAN ALL DO IT.....Good Luck. Karen RNY6-30/286/217/145someday

Barbara, I'm feeling the same. My surgery was on June 8 and I have only lost 43 pounds. I expected an initial loss of at least 20 pounds/month. But I too have been seeing changes in my clothing sizes. In jeans I went from a 32 to 26, in dresses I went from 28 to 22, in slacks a 30 to 24 and shirts a 28 to 22. So, I guess we need to be patient, but I expected to see better results on the scale with as little as I am eating. Joan Smith

Topic: A little discouraged
I am almost four months post-op and have lost only 50 pounds. After reading other losses I am a little discouraged. I have gone from a 22W to an 18, so I am pleased with that. Are there others who are losing slowly?

Topic: Happy Birthday to ME!!!
Hey June Bugs!! Well, today i'm proud to say i'm 46 years young! This time last year I weighed 70 lbs more, and felt terrible...wondering how many birthdays this old body would see, how much more time I had to spend with my family and friends, and what quality that time would be. Today, I feel great!! Just getting to this point has been the joy of my life. I have so much more energy, stamina, and zest for life now. My depression has lifted significantly, with no "lows" for over a year now. After years of suffering from major depressions, this is such a relief. I hope all those that read this post who are considering having the surgery, but are either nervous, afraid, or reluctant find the strength and courage to go for it...I will never regret doing this. I am 1/3 of the way to my goal weight of 150...and I can even see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, by next year this time I will have attained my goal. So...in a moment of supreme self-indulgence I say "Happy Birthday To Me!!" Happy 46th Birthday...and many more! Good luck to all of those who have taken this step...and I hope those who are considering it finds inspiration in my story. Faye

Topic: RE: 14 weeks today and down 133 lbs. Too fast???????????
I think the big thing here is, how do you feel??? It does seem very fast but one of the people in my support group is right there with you on how fast the weight is comming off and he is doing great. His blood work is normal he feels great and is looking fantastic. Men of course usually do loose faster but this may be normal for you. Are you active?? that can increase the weight loss too. Hope all is well for you!!!! Krista
