Protein is never too much. I understand that the more protein you eat the more weight you will lose.

WHOOO HOOO I'm down to a size 16!!! I can't believe it!! from 24 to 16
I haven't been a size 16 since ummmmmm 18 years old??? I'm 49 now so it has been too long to count..
.. I have yet to regret this surgery.
I don't even miss having sugar. I like the fact that I'm loosing instead of eating the sugar..
... thought I would share my good news!!
hope everyone's weekend is great!

Topic: Feeling Better and Better
A month after by bypass I began to have severe problems with nausea and vomiting. Found out it was my gall bladder which was removed 2 mos after bypass surgery.
The nausea following surgery is finally gone and for the first time since bypass surgery, I am able to eat "real" food and some meat. I'm down 53 lbs since 6/10 and am so glad to finally feel I am on the road to recovery. My regular doctor gave me some meds for arthritis this week so I should also be able to walk and exercise now as well.
I have never been sorry I had the bypass but have really been challenged to recover up until now! For those having similar problems, see your Dr and hang in there. It can get better.

Topic: RE: A little discouraged
Barbara You are okay, I know you feel discouraged, as i do at times. I also went from a 22 to an 18.. and i lost 65lbs.. so your doing better then me. I know its hard, and its hard for me to take my own advice, but we have to be patient, and trust that we will do our own thing, in our own time! .. look on the bright side, if you call it a bright side,, because we are losing slower, our skin won't be asssssssss saggy as it could be. right?? please say im right! (smile)

Topic: RE: A little discouraged
Barbara, Joan,
remember what you were told when you started this journey?? It's "let's not compare our loss to others" ! I always read these posts about people losing double the weight that I've managed to lose, and it's bugged me at first, but I've been ASSURED by my physician that I am right on target. I made my half century mark today, and I've got at least another 100 more to go. As long as I see the pounds coming off, I'm happy and content. Trust me, you're doing fine. One thing I must say, I do not have all the saggy skin some others have, seems like mine is snapping back relatively well because it has time to adjust
The higher the BMI, the faster they lose it, eventually we all even out in the long run.
We're doing just fine, girls!!

Topic: RE: 14 weeks today and down 133 lbs. Too fast???????????
Sharon,
what does your surgeon think ? I looked at your profile and I've noticed that you have a pretty high BMI, so your weight loss will be a lot higher and faster than the lower BMI's would be, so in a way, you're normal, but I'd definitely check this with the surgeon.
I'm 3 months out now and made the half century mark today wohoo. Losing much slower than some others, but happily losing one pound at a time here!
Best wishes and take care !
Andrea
