Barbara, You're so very welcome. I can relate to the worries but I've put them aside many weeks ago and now just take one day at a time. Losing weight, slow or fast, is a blessing, and I know I'm so much healthier with each pound, I can feel how much energy I have now compared to six months ago ( back then, it was ZILCH!ZERO! ) Good luck and take care~ Andrea

Hi Mary, My story is similar to yours, I too haven't been a size 16 since I was in High School and I had my surgery on June 10th. Doesn't it feel wonderful? I haven't had real sugar since my surgery and with all the substitutes out there, I'm not missing a thing. Congratulations on your success! Huggs! Terri 260/212/150?

Thank you so much for the replies. I just needed to be reminded how far I have come. It took years to put on all my weight so why should I think that it is just going to melt off? I need to stop comparing myself with others. I feel great, have much more energy, and am losing inches!!! What more could you ask for? Have a great day and thanks for sharing. Barbara

Topic: RE: A little discouraged
Hi Barbara, I read your post and boy did it ring bells! I kept thinking, I AM that person. Are we ever real pleased with ourselves? I don't really think so. Here's my example...I was going gangbusters and lost 60 pounds by my 3 month mark, then the scale refused to move. Being the scale ***** that I am, I just about had a stroke for the last 2 weeks. Well, just when I thought I was going to drown myself in a sinkful of protein, The scale moved 4 pounds! All in one day! Go figure. I like to think maybe the body decides to stay at a certain weight for a little while to catch up and recover from the shock of all that losing. Hang in there, we will all lose the weight. Hannah (my highest was 270)216/152/110?

Topic: RE: Dry Skin ?
Tiffany, dry skin got me too, and my support group suggested using olive oil twice a week on my skin. I thought it was weird but worth a try and now I love it. I have been adding olive oil to my regular lotion, warming it up and slathering it all over. Best suggestion I've gotten yet. Hope it helps for you.

Barbars, YES,YES,YES !! I know we're not suppose to weight ourselfs alot , but, I do and I get really discouraged when I don't see numbers going down as quickly as I wish they would. I have not lost a pound in 2 weeks. BUT I have lost inches!!!! I went recently from an 18 to starting to fit into 16's. I think we level off and stablize than loose again... than stablize again. I think thats how it works!! Anyhow 50lbs is really nothing to sneeze at you know!!! That's about what I've lost too. 55 for me. my surgery was 6/8/04 . SO instead of getting upset about not loosing quicker we should give ourself's ahand for the 50 lbs. we've lost forever!!!! so here's to us.. GOOD JOB!!!!!~MARY
