Topic: RE: What Eleanor did !!
Hi Barbara,
I think all of us have the worry and concern of regaining any of our weight on the back of our mind at all times. Ok, maybe it's just me, I worry about it all the time. I go up and down the same 2 or 3 lbs all the time, but I think I'm keeping it in check by watching those couple of pounds.
Sounds to me like you know exactly what to do about it and as other writers have said, use your success to help motivate you to keep it under control.
I'm on the band wagon... I'm increasing my exercise and cutting out in between meal snacks.
Best wishes!
Terri

OK since starting this thread I have lost 4 lbs. so SOMETHING is working LOL.
I am back to basics with calorie/carb counting and protein loading. The first couple of days were hard, the carb withdrawal sucked. I still need to work on getting enough water in, and getting my vitamin regimen in order again too. I got really lax and comfortable with all this and now I am paying the price with regain and fatigue.
My treadmill has this feature where you can key in your weight/age etc. and it will tell you how many calories you are burning while exercising. I have just begun recommitting myself to exercising (hate it) and it is almost not worth eating the "treat" when you can see how much effort it takes to burn those calories back off!

BJ...
I too have found it very easy to just pick up something to eat with out even thinking about it...I have put on an extra 10 pounds since I started working and not getting in all my walking like I used to do. I am still way down below my goal weight, but am not happy about putting on the extra 10 pounds. I have started walking at night when I get home from work. So I guess that's a start.
You should, and me, be happy with all the weight you have lost. Maybe together we can do this....Good luck and keep us posted.

Topic: struggling, setting 2 year anniversary goal WHOSE WITH ME??
I am embarrassed to admit constant grazing and even swiping out of my kids' Easter Baskets, how pathetic is that? It's like I can't even have anything bad in the house as I have no self-control (I'm not a dumper unfortunately).
I have yoyo'd 10 pounds back and forth since tummy tuck last November. If it is this easy to put 10 back on in the matter of a couple of weeks I am a goner when it comes to long-term maintenance.
JUST THOUGHT I'D POST THIS HERE TO KEEP MYSELF HONEST. No flames please, I'm berating myself enough as it is.
Spring is finally here and hopefully with the nice weather comes more outdoor activity to burn calories. And I need to get back on the WLS regimen as well as mind-set.
Having confessed this, let me put my goal out there -- I want to weigh 145 at my 2-year anniversary. I had gotten down to 148 back in January and put 10 pounds back on.
Anyone else wanna join me?

Topic: survey help
Hi-My name is Martha Dunn. I am completing my doctoral degree at Antioch New England Graduate School. My dissertation research project explores post bariatric surgery behavior, struggles and needs. If you have 10-15 minutes to complete the survey, it would be a big help to me. Also, if you have friends who've also had the surgery and could forward this message to them, that would be great. More in-depth details are on the link that follows and thank you in advance.

Before surgery, I was required to visit a psychologist for an evaluation. If you were required to as well, you may want to contact that doctor. I know that the one I saw dealt with alot of WLS patients, and told me that he often had follow-ups with patients after sugery. In some cases, morbid obesity is a symptom of a larger psychological issue, and if that's true in your case, you'll need to get to the underlying cause before you can truly win your battle with your weight.

Do you attend any type of support group in your area for weight loss patients? Talk to your weight loss surgeon about your food cravings. They're there to help, or at least should be. They may be able to direct you where you can get some help. You might find a local overeaters anonymous group in your area since they deal with food as an addiction.
Don't let this go too long or else you'll put the weight back on.
Good luck,

I guess the Honeymoon is over, I've reached the goals i set for myself but found them too easy to reach, and fight the urge to want to eat continually! I've considered a rehab program for eating addictions! Has anyone done that? This is getting me as I now crave food and nothing seems to satisfy. Any suggestions.?
