Topic: RE: June 21 update
As of today I have lost 54 pounds so it seems like we are right on. I had my 3-month check-up this past thursday and my surgeon was pleased with my progress. All of my blood work has come back in the normal range and I feel a lot better without all that fat. I still have over 100 pounds to go but I plan to enjoy every step of my journey. God bless you.

Topic: RE: How is everyone doing?
I am doing great and feel really good. I am down 54 pounds and can tell a difference in my clothes every day. My energy level is good and I'm not out of breath all the time. I can bend over and pick things up from the floor without feeling like everything is squeezing the life out of me. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself and have absolutely no regrets.
Topic: RE: any advice??
The only goal I have set is to be at a normal weight within 18 months of surgery. I am using what fitday.com said was my ideal weight for my height as my goal weight. Any loss makes me happy.
Topic: Chlosterol levels
are normal!!! Now, I don't reccommend that folks go off medication without first consulting with their doctors; however, after my surgery I chose not to continue all of my medications and one of those was my Lipitor. I had blood work done 3 weeks ago and my chlosterol levels were normal without medication. I am still on meds for diabetes and bloos pressure but we will see as the weight continues to go down if I can come off any of them.

Topic: RE: My hair is falling out!!
i've been reassured by my surgeon and case workers (the case workers are all post-ops too) that you won't lose it all, it will DEFINITELY come back and as long as you're getting in your protein/vitamin requirements, there is NOTHING you can do to stop/slow it. everyone is different to how their body reacts to major surgery.
believe me, i've lost quite a bit so far and it is scary. to me it's not worth the money to try all these things that are supposed to "help" with the hair loss when it's been shown nothing will help.
i can only go on my doctor's/caseworkers word, i trust them.
good luck!

Hi! Surgery was 6/11 and I've been losing slowly. I'm down 65.5 lbs today which is right on with the loss calculator, but I have no patience!!!
I stopped losing for two weeks then WENT ON A CRUISE and tho I was sure things weren't going well I came home down 6 lbs and lost 3.5 more in the last few days, I've lost about 30 inches and am down from a stretched to the max 28/30 to a 22 pants and an eighteen top. So I guess I'm ok. Its slow tho
