Topic: RE: high protein lunch meat!
Dear LeAnn,
Thank you for the protein tip. I have not tried any lunchmeat yet but this sounds like a good choice. I usually eat leftovers from previous nights dinners but was looking for something when I am unable to heat things up. I read your profile, you sound so positive even with your original complications. Great atitude. Sounds like you are doing very well now-congratulations and good luck to you.
Sincerely,
Carol
Topic: Turkey Day Mini Goal
About 2 months ago a few of us set a mini goal for Turkey Day. How is everyone doing? My goal was to reach 223 #. This morning, I weighed in at 229.5 #. I'm almost there!

Topic: high protein lunch meat!
I have found this wonderful turkey breast that has lots of protein.....Oscar Mayer Oven Roasted Turkey Breast ~ 98% fat free.....EACH slice has 13 grams of protein and only 25cal. per slice! I usually can eat 3 at a setting, that is 39 grams right there! I usually eat it with 1/2 C low fat cottage cheese....that is another 13 grams!!! So a total protein just for lunch is 52 grams!!!!!! And then I have a protein shake in the morning of 20 grams. (72grams)
So I pretty much get all of my protein in by lunch time.
The lunch meat is pretty moist and when adding the cottage cheese it makes it even moister!!!
Just thought that I would share!!

Topic: RE: I've hit a Plateau
Hey! You might want to change when you are eatting things. Like if you are having an egg at like 830 and cheese at 11:15. Have the egg at 11:15 cheese at 8:30,see if that help. You know can alway call the dr office and talk to one of the pa's and see what they say. Because that what I had to do when I was in a plateau, and it is also a waitting game, it isn't very much fun. I was on a plateau for like 2 weeks. But you will get over it.
Topic: RE: JUNE-bugs weigh in...
6-22-04 open VBG 355lbs
Now, 270 lbs
-85 lb loss :D
Have hit my first plateau, and my hair is falling out big time. Started taking Biotin supplements last week, and it actually seems to be helping a bit. Dance rehersals start on Nov. 2, so that should kick the weight loss back into gear.
Topic: RE: Best Exercise for toning muscles
Six months before strength trainining seems like a long time. What is their reasoning for so long? Risk of hernias? I would like to know that answer. Anyways, here is my experience....
I was given the go ahead to use an imcumbent(sp?) bike 6 weeks after surgery and received approval from my surgeon to start resistance training 3 months after surgery. I work out at the local YMCA 4-5 times a week with weights and cardio work. He recommended that I start with light weights and work on form and build on repetitions which I have done and have gradually increased my weights. I am amazed at the toning that has occurred in such a short time.
If you can't afford a membership, I know my hospital offered a home workout kit called, Gym-On-The-Go. GOTG is simply a bunch of cords and suggested exercises that help you strengthen your muscles. I would assume that there is a way to get prices on a set online or find something similar at a local sporting goods store.
Hope this helps and continued success with your new body!!

Topic: Information
I have figured out something for those few times I seem to eat alittle too much and I feel like I am going to
. I have not done so to often but....we all do it. Instead of lying down for 30 min or so, I get in the
tub with warm water and soak. I usually lay on my tummy and rest there for about 15 min. By then it passes and I feel so much better. This is just one of the things I have tried and it really seems to help alot. Hope it helps for you.
