Topic: I DID IT!!! I FINALLY have PICTURES!!! :-)
Hi Everyone! Well, I actually did it and what do you know? The world did not cave it and I am not depressed sitting in the corner eating Ben and Jerry's, or cheesecake or any of the horrible things I thought would happen when I saw a picture of myself. Go ahead and look at my profile. I had my little girl take pictures of me last night with the digital camera and quickly put them up before I could start picking them apart. What do you all think? I have now lost 74 pounds in the 5 months since surgery. And 129 pounds in the last 10 months. I've gone from a snug size 22 to a comfy size 6 pants and small tops!I FEEL GREAT!!! My lap RNY was on June 8, 2004. I'm down 79.25 total INCHES and 75 pounds. I've gone from a 26 to a 16W pants, 12/14 dress, and M/L shirts! I feel GREAT except for the balding. Like others, I see LOTS of scalp and every time I wash my hair - I lose at least a drainful of hair. I've got a wig "just in case" and my hair dresser is dying and highlighting and coloring it like my own. I keep telling myself it's only temporary and the other "losses" i've had more than make up for this cosmetic problem. Barb

Topic: RE: New Years Goal !!!!
O.K. well I see we are about even in the weight loss progress there. for my goal I'll go with 168 I'm at 188 right now. so that will be 20 lbs or 10 lbs a month which is what I seem to be averaging. Which believe me I am not complaining. I know we're gonna hit a plateau sometime , but, I hope that it will keep going for a while anyhow. We'll have to see an update next month and see how we all are coming towards this new goal! ~ Mary

Topic: RE: Turkey Day Mini-Goal Progress???
Hi BJ, Yes, It's going to take an act of God to help me reach my goal of weighing 130 pounds too. I am now at 142. Somehow I do not see me losing 12 pounds in the next couple of weeks. I have lost 74 pounds so far and I now wear a comfortable size 6. I can get into a size 4 but why work at it. My Dr. tells me that I have 21 pounds left until the goal he picked for me. I hadn't exercised in 6 weeks because I got the flu and then pneumonia and my asthma decided to put in an appearance after THREE years of being asthma free. I'm just now starting to get on the treadmill again. I'm eating more now. About 1/2 a cup of food in one sitting. I've lost TONS of hair. Thank goodness I had enough hair for 4 full heads or I would be in SAAAAD shape now. It sounds like you've got a great battle plan. Keep at it. Hannah My highest weight was 272/ 216/142/121

Topic: Turkey Day Mini-Goal Progress???
Hi folks, The only way I will be able to reach my mini-goal of 208 by T-Day will be by act of God at this point -- I stalled with my weight loss during the last week of September for a four-week plateau -- things picked up a little bit over the last two weeks but it's slow going now and I am a bit depressed, actually. Also I couldn't walk/exercise for a period of 3 weeks due to medical issues unrelated to WLS . . . so that may have had something to do with my stall as well. Sigh. Still not feeling restriction or fullness, still measuring ounces and counting calories. I find tracking what I eat on fitday.com to be the most helpful tool I've got going at this point. I stopped by our neighborhood Curves just now to get their rates. They are having a "special" introductory package -- $75 initiation fee and then monthly payments of $29 beginning in January. I am going to go for this, hopefully I can find this within the budget. The Curves is exactly one mile from my house, so I could incorporate my daily walking back and forth to there as well. Sounds like a plan. -BJ 300/222-4 bouncing/150???

Topic: RE: We're hitting our 5 month's!!
I too can't get over the transformation that my body has gone through these last 5 months!!! I'm down 75 pounds~including pre-op weight loss. I went from a size 20W to a reg. 10. WOW that is half the size I use to be!!! It is weird to shop now and acutally have to go down from a large to med. in shirts. Hard to comprehend sometimes. Glad that everyone is doing so well!! ~LeAnn~ 259/184/145?

Congratulations on the awesome weight loss. It will only get better. I am 5 months out on the 21 but am already down 81 pounds. It is such an amazing feeling to go into a "regular" sized store and fit into clothes. I am now in a size 12 jeans and M tops. I started out at a tight 22 and XL-XXL. I can now shop in all the stores I wanted to when in high school but I couldn't. Hopefully I will be even lighter when I head to my 10 year reunion next summer. Heather 269/185/135
