Hi all, I've had a rough road lately. I spent more than a month in the hospital with a hernia repair and other complications. I went from 272 to 119 and my dr says now I'm UNDERWHEIGHT. The problem I'm having is I'm starving! Even after I eat a meal, within minutes, I'm so hungry! Hannah

What are you eating? I know when I ea****ery things like cottage cheese I tend to get hungry quicker than when I eat dense foods like chicken, cheese or fish. So I try to combine some of each. And when I eat too many carbs and not enough proteins I'm hungry faster too. The carbs increase the appetite from what I understand. And are you confusing hunger pangs with stomach sounds like gas? Sometimes my stomach makes noises that I used to think were hunger but I know they're not if I've recently eaten. And how abou****er and other liquids? Are you taking in enough? I drink at least 120 ounces per day, more if I'm working out hard. And are you drinking with meals? That will just push the food through faster making you feel hungry sooner. Just a few suggestions to think about. I'm certainly not perfect but I'm so glad I'm not hungry all the time. For me that is the nicest part of this surgery. Not being hungry all the time. If you're doing everything right you might call your weight loss surgeon and have them take a look at your pouch to see if everything's still ok in there. Good luck. Terry Coles

Thanks Terry! The thing is, I'm doing all of that. (I'm anal that way) I was in the hospital from Dec 12-January 1. Christmas SUCKED this year. And then I was in two more times in January. The the second week in December, I was rushed in and he thought it was my gallbladder so he went after that and realized that I had a rare kind of hernia. I was told 1 in 10,000 get this type and he was going to write an article about it in the journal. He converted to open, took out the gallbladder, and repaired the hernia but on Christmas day, he opened me up again for adhesions and a blockage. I've been having random attacks where I'm doubled over in pain sometimes after I eat. My pouch and I have been checked prodded and poked. They say everything is GREAT. It doesn't happen all the time but just recently I feel like I can inhale the fridge and spit out the bolts. LOL! I'm not gaining anything though so maybe it's hormonal or my body is trying to catch up for all the days that I didn't get to eat and was hooked up to the pic line for my nutrients. Thanks for all the tips. Hannah
