MY HAIR !!!
I'm not shedding anymore . . . but I will say that my thick thick hair has never grown back to its original fullness, unfortunately. The hair that is left is totally without luster. This is the one--and only--negative thing I can say about my WLS surgery, is that I miss my thick hair!

I've just finished a second round of hair shedding.
It started again at just about the 1 year mark and lasted about 4 months. My TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) was out of wack and I was severely anemic at the same time so those two issues might have contributed to it. It looks like it has stopped again - so I hope that's it for NOW!

Hi.
My name is L.T.Hannibal, and I have not had the surgery yet, but I have been hearing alot about post-op patients losing their hair. I attended a seminar back in July and a question regarding hair lose came up, and the person who asked the question was told that they knew not of such a thing happening to post-op. I am concerned because this is not the first time I have come across this matter about hair lose. I am beginning to wonder why would the dietian and the surgeon say that it does not happen when it does.
I have completed all the pre-op tests required for the surgery and I am just waiting on my surgery date to come around, and I would hate to discontinue because of untruthfulness. Would someone please give me advise on what to do at this point?
Hi,
You look fabulous! Did you cut your hair real short when it started falling out? That's what I did. Mine started falling out at the 3 month mark, and started growing back in at the 6 month mark. I'd just blow dry it and spike it up with a little gel. I am having a little trouble again with it falling out, but not as bad as the first time. Praise the Lord that I have 3 times as much hair as the average person.
Bless you,
Sherri
