Hi. I really like this June group, it helps me feel like I am right on target. Thank you everyone. My surgery was on 6/17. Starting weight at 250, now am 203 so a 47 pound loss. I had horrible complications the first 1 1/2 months but I am doing very well now. This surgery is tough for type 1 diabetics I have learned. I do a three mile walking tape daily (well, most days.) Good luck to everyone, stay well, eat sensibly, and good luck to all !!!!!!!!!
well I have lossed 35 lb it is very slow for me I have big pouch and had to have the VGB I wanted the RnY not happy about it all but I am working with it walking evey day and counting cal 700-1000 limit my food to 3 meals and one or two snack no more I record it all every bit and water water water **** it's hard but I am doing it all ! that dame scale just will not move! no dumping with the VBG but it is hard not to get into the suger the fat is not so hard except for butter so I do not even go there . it got to work realy passed I did not get the RnY it a big let down the whole thing
allyson
Had a lap RNY on June 14th
Starting weight 276 after surgery, down 55 pounds so far.
I walk at least 4 miles 5 days a week on a treadmill at the gym, some days I do 5 to 6 miles. Also work out with weights and play raquetball on weekends.
Started in a tight size 28 jeans, now wearing a size 18. Size L to XL tops, but I carry the weight in the legs and hips.
I can eat anything (haven't tried sweets yet) and have not dumped. No hair loss either. I feel wonderful......lots of energy. Cravings for sweets are gone. I crave meat now when I'm eating something artificially sweetened like a protein bar. Breads are too filling so I stay away from them. I pretty much live on meat and dairy with some veggies and fruit thrown in for variety. I eat what I like so I thoroughly enjoy my food.
Good luck to all! Will update next month!
