The 9th will be 2 months...
HI everyone.
Had Lap Rny on June 9th. Is anyone else losing slow? I have been at a stand still for 3 weeks now with no loss. I am getting really upset about the scale not moving.
I have lost as of this morning 33lbs. I thought Id lose more. But I am very happy with the loss. I know I have lost major inches. I started out in a size 20-22 pants and fit very comfortably in a 16 now. Please someone tell me that I will lose more weight and this is not it. I know that sounds stupid ...but the last 3 weeks have been torture for me with the scale just flashing the same numbers at me.
How is everyone else doing?
My husband has lost 73 lbs since his surgery on May 18th. He isnt even 3 months yet...and he does nothing...no walking...nothing.... But that's men...they lose faster. Plus he did have more weight to lose than me.
I wish you all the Best. Lets keep eachother updated and push eachother to do better.

I am 8 weeks out and have lost 35 lbs. I had hoped for more, but it isn't in the cards. My pcp says the slow loss is better. He says I am losing all fat right now. He has also stressed the protein. If we do not get in all the protein we need we lose muscle. I feel good about 35 lbs. I will get to goal, but I think it will take the entire 12 months to do it.
I had suregery on June 9th as well!! I started at 260lbs and now weight 223lbs maybe less because I just got my period! I think men lose fast because they don't retain as much water as we do !!! For about 5 weeks I didn't lose a pound I was up and down the same 4 pounds and since last Saturday I been losing a pound a day!! You need to make sure you get in your protein and drink lots of water and work out also !!!! Good Luck !!!!

Don't worry, you will start losing again. I hit my first plateau a couple of weeks ago and the scale didn't move...then, all of the sudden it started going down again. Of course, I have tried to increase my activities and joined Curves, so i'm working out 30 mins a day 3 x a week. They say when you hit a plateau that you should increase your protein intake to boost up your metabolism. I haven't tried it yet, it's all I can do to get my 60 grams in per day now. Good luck...there are brighter days ahead!
I know exactly how you feel. I was 2 mos post op on 8/2. I started out at 293 and on 8/2 I was 254. I lost 28 the first month and a little over 10 the second month. I thought I would loose faster too. I know everyone is different but I guess it was extra frustrating because for 2.5 weeks before that I just kept loosing and gaining the same 2 pounds. My plateau broke on 8/4, I weighed and I was 251. Just stay encouraged, everyone is different and longer is better. Don't worry you will reach goal.

293/251 / 180?
I also had my RNY (open) on the 9th of June--I am down 36lbs, and happy for it, to be honest. It is the most I have ever lost in my life, that is for sure! And in 9 weeks! However, I need to do more protein, more water, and MORE exercise, but in general I do pretty well. I knew it would be a slow process, but I think I would like to see it happen more quickly and I put that responsibility on myself more than anything. It just takes time--we didn't gain it all in one month and won't lose it in one month either. I hope you feel encouraged, and proud of how far you have come already--when you look back on this next year, you will be surprised at how quickly the time passed! Hang in there!
Blessings,
