Open Incision

Most of my incision is healed up & looking good, but I have 2 small holes each about 1/4 inch in length & about 1/8 deep that have opened up in the top portion. I've been packing them with gauze & taping them down, but it doesn't seem to be healing. I called my Dr & he said to continue doing that until he sees me again on July 6th. Is there anything else I could possibly be doing to help this get healed up? Thanks!

Don't let the shower spray directly into the open wound. Instead, wet a clean washcloth with warm water, soap up a good lather with DIAL soap. Let the soapy water trickle over and into the wound. Then rinse with clear water the same way (trickling water from a clean washcloth). Pat dry. Redress. There are plenty of other anti-bacterial soaps, but DIAL is tried and true. Also make sure you're taking your vitamins and getting in your protein. Hope it helps, RK
