I am post op two weeks and going out of my mind with all these liquids. I have found out all about the dumping syndrome. I am mainly on liquids but have ventured out to small bites of mashed potateos and little bites of grill cheeses. I am measuring a 1/2 cup at each serving and only eat these foods when completely sick of liquids. I did over stuff mysled twice and found all about the dumping syndrome realy quick. Please let me know if there are any cook books out for post op foods out there. Back to liquids I go. I can't have the foods I used to eat and that has been tuff. I am much more aware of what I can eat and can't. I do plan meals for my husband now that are healthy. I am looking forward to seeing more results as time goes on. It has been hard to take my medications for Bipoler Disorder. They come in liquid but yuck! It seems I need to crush them into small bits then put them into CIB. Any ideas on the PILL taking? The Roxiset they put me on made me very hipper. I am going on four days off the pain med and am mucg slower right now in moving. But I can take the dogs for a walk and not feel out of breath. I am slow going post op two weeks. I go for a F/U apt in a week. Talk to you then.

I am also 2 weeks out. My doctor does not put us on liquid diets but on pureed food diet for the 1st 2 weeks. Yogurt is great and goes down easy. Be careful make sure to get sugarless (Yoplait Ultra low carb life-style) also you can add powdered/dry nonfat milk to it and it doesn't change the taste and 2 tablespoons of it adds 5 gr of protein. So in total you get 13 gr of protein from this yogurt. You find the dry milk in the baking aisle. You can add it to many things. Also cooked cereal ( original) or cream of wheat. As desert Sugarfree jello, a soft srambled egg has 6 gr of protein and if you add 1/4 cup of lowfat cheese to it you add another 7 gr. I use a baby spoon. You can add dry milk to mashed potatoes , mixed w/ egg etc. 2 tbls = 5 gr of protein. also, shredded and very tender chicken breast 2oz or 1/4 cup is 14gr of protein. I hope this gives you some help, remember you should also call your doctors office for some ideas, they should be there to teach you and help you through this process. Gloria LaLlave

Hello Gloria, I wanted to let you know how much I really appreciate your list of good things to eat. Thank you for the reasurance knowing you are on pureed foods. I really am glad to hear I am not the only one eating some foods at such an early time of this surgery. I really miss my best friend! It is a great lose in some ways but also a celebration of life to see my body get back to the way it used to be. I really appreciate your reply. God bless. Can you please let me know how your progress is coming? Look forward to staying in touch if you have the time. Sam [email protected]
