It has been 2 years and I have lost 227 pounds. It saved my life.
Topic: RE: Anyone Experiencing Low Blood Sugar?
I have never had my blood surgar checked, but I too have been getting really tired and have had problems with being sick. I had to go back to my doc a few months ago because I had missed my 18 month checkup, anyway, they took blood, and I was low on B12 and some things were boarderline. Even with that they said I was doing fine. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
It is hard to believe that it has been almost two years since I had my surgery, 6/23/03. I have lost 105 pounds, my starting weight was 249 (5'4") and I am now at 144 and holding. I am not losing much anymore, but I have not gained any, so I am happy. They say I am 5 pounds from goal, but I would really like to lose another 20, if I could pick where I would lose it from! LOL I would love to have plastics, but there is no way my insurance will pay for any of it, and I can't afford to do it on my own. I would be so happy if I could have my legs done, the extra skin is so ugly. I have always had HEAVY legs, so the skin is really stretched out. I can live with all of that because I feel so much better then I did 2 years ago. It is wonderful to be able to cross my legs, tie my shoes, ride with my hubby on our motorcycle - and those are just a few of the things I am so happy about!
Happy re-birth to all of you with anniversarys coming soon.

Topic: Anyone Experiencing Low Blood Sugar?
I have off and on been having problems with low blood sugar. Recently is has become severe. It has been making me so sick. I went to an Endocrinologist 2 weeks ago and he had me come in for a fasting Glucose Tolerance Test. At the 2 hour mark my blood sugar was 36. He is very concerned with this and very surprised that I haven't been passing out all the time. I have learned to not drive or do anything dangerous if I don't feel well. I sometimes have to sleep off the bad feelings. I am now going to a nutritionist to see if we can get this straightened out through Diet. I have 3 months to do so. If not then I will be placed on some medication to see if it can be controlled better that way. I am just shy of 2 years since surgery. I can't believe what a GREAT 2 years this has been. I am still losing but very very slowly. I am down to 165 lbs and can do so much more then I could ever do in my life. I am getting ready for plastic this fall. I will have my tummy done, and my arms will be done but I will have to pay for the arms out of pocket which will be so worth it. Good luck to every one and I pray the next two years are just as great.
Hugs to all,
Pammie
Topic: almost years later! Wow
Well here I am just nearing the 2 year mark! I can't believe how much better I feel! I do wish that I would have gotten to my "perfect" weight but I still haven't gotten there. I really don't think I will get there either and that to me is really SAD! I had hoped that by this time I would be able to wear shorts and feel WONDERFUL about my WHOLE body! But it's not the end of the world cause I DO fell SO much better about myself and just life in general! My weight goes from 192 -209 up and down but I still have yet ever to see under the 192 weight and I'm sure that's cause I just DON'T exercise! just to busy!
I would do this surgery over in a heart beat although! It's been the best thing that I could have ever done for myself and my kids!
Topic: It has been a very long t...
It has been a very long tiome since I chatted or wrote anything about my surgery. I had the surgery 6/9/03, to date I have lost 157 lbs. I can't really share with family and friends how I truly feel. They just don't get it. I am at the stage where I wonder if there is love after WLS. I sort of think, it is only if you have plastic surgery first. How do we deal with all of that extra stuff, especially if you can't afford to have plastic surgery?
Topic: RE: Has anyone gained any weight back after about a One and a Half Years after surgery?
I haven't gained, but I know I can eat more iin the past 3 or 4 months, so I try to watch what I eat more closely. I, too, really fear gaining. I would like to know more what others' experience has been.
Topic: RE: Happy Anniversary
I am coming up on anniversary number 2 and I am down 140 pounds so far. My goal is to lose another 15 pounds, but Lord knows, it is extremely hard. I have been at the same weight for over 3 months now.
I know I should be happy, and don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic. I just want to reach my goal.

Topic: RE: Plastics
Hi Dawn;
I lost 143lbs which was 1/2 of myself. I have had a TT and BA with reconstruction. My legs and arms are not bad. I just need to work them which I must say I do not do. My tummy has NEVER been flat but it is now and I love it. I wore a bikini for the first time in my life while on vacation in April. I have Traditional BCBS of MI, they paid for my TT but I had to fork out the money for the breast work. Good Luck on your quest.
