Marty thanks for all the great ideas! I know that there's always an excuse just waiting to pop out of my mouth! I have started exercising a little but not enough to do much! Well see if I'm just going to stay like this for the rest of my life! I would hate to always be a size 16! Thank you to all who have responded to my cry for help!

Tami, you look awesome. Your eyes shine and you seem like a whole new person. It's wonderful. Now I'm going to give you a lecture. You DO have time to exercise. You're just not taking it. Exercise is part of the whole health picture, and nothing is more important than you taking care of your health. Find the time somehow. In my case, I've finally resorted to going to bed at 8:30 pm and getting up at 4:30 to go to the gym. I hate getting up that early, but now it's a habit, and I like the results better than I like sleeping in. Find something you like to do and just get out there and do it: walk a dog, roller blade, take a dance class, ANYTHING to keep moving. Wear a pedometer and make sure you get your 10,000 steps every day. Park as far away as possible when you go shopping or to work, so you can squeeze in a few steps. At work, when you need to use the restroom, walk around the building a little bit. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do calf raises when you're in line at the grocery store. Walk around the house when you go out to get the mail. If you like playing video games on XBox or Play Station, get a copy of Yourself Fitness, where you'll have a virtual personal trainer who will assess your fitness level and lead you through a whole program, including nutrition. (It's also available for PC.) You deserve the whole package! Congratulations on your 2-year anniversary (It's like a birthday to me, because I'm a completely different person!) and keep on taking good care of yourself. Again, you look beautiful!
Topic: RE: Has your appetite expanded?????
I agree with all of you. My appetite is back BIG TIME, along with the urge to eat in a disordered way. I went to the Obesity Help convention in Denver, and a doctor had some wonderful words of wisdom which I'll share with you. He asked us how many of us would go back to where we were? He then asked how many of us would rather die than go back there? He said that people said keeping weight off was "hard," but then he talked about things that were REALLY hard, like holding a loved one in your arms as he died, like losing everything you have in a fire, etc. When you think about those things, it's not really so hard.
I'm scared all the time about gaining weight. They say inside every fat person is a thin person wanting to get out. I disagree. I think, for us, anyway, that there's a fat person just dying to come out. One thing that works for me is staying fit. I sign up for 5K races months ahead of time to keep myself on track. I also ask myself when I eat something, "Is this going to be good for my new body or is this disordered eating?" That seems to help, too.
Two years out, I finally realize that this is a lifelong fight. That said, it's time to get to the gym. Hang strong, everyone. We can do this.
Topic: RE: have gained weight and don't know what to do
I started to gain, and when the gain reached 3 pounds, I decided to get serious. For me, working out is the key to keeping weight off. In fact, it's the only way. I'm turning into a gym rat, something I thought I'd NEVER be, but it works for me. Besides, the arm muscles somewhat offset the loads of extra skin. Yuck!
Topic: RE: It has been 2 years and I...
Hi Joan,
A BIG congrats to you! You've made it through a tough year and now have accomplished another. Its one day at a time. I'm not sorry for a minute that I had the surgery 2 years ago. I've lost a whole person but gained a person I thought was gone forever. I'm back to the old me and loving every day of it. I was weighing in at 254 and now I'm at 130. I'm a lot heathier and happier person now. Keep up the good work and again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hi there. We meet again... Listen I highly recommend going to WEIGH****CHERS now. OUR STOMACHS are the perfect size for their portion control plan. I am serious! I had went back to Weigh****chers after I plateaued for 1 year...stuck and started to gain...due to depression, my mother had passed away July 2004, and I had my insurance denial for skin removal , because of stupid PS FEMOVICH, anyways...like I said, somebody at work asked me, IF I WAS GAINING MY WEIGHT BACK? and that was it...for me...went back to Weigh****chers, and I lost the weight I had gained, and am now losing beyond that. Give it a try...our stomachs are not as huge as they once were, and you will be satisfied with the amounts of points they give you to work with...the support team is wonderful, motivational meetings every week, and you too will be back on the LOSING TEAM.....Good Luck, CAROL
