Dear Deb, I had the surgery on June 9th and I'm having the same problem. No matter how much I chew my food, some foods just won't go down smoothly. I've been told to just try new foods and see what works for you, and eventually the food that previously haven't work may eventually work.

Topic: Surgery Update for Sheryl H(Chesterfield, VA).
Hi folks, I wanted to give a surgery update for Sheryl H(Chesterfield, VA). Sheryl is still in the hospital but is doing fine. She had her surgery June 25th and it took a little longer than expected due to scar tissue from previous surgery. The Doctor is very diligent and wants to make sure that everything is working right before he sends her home. Sheryl says they are taking very good care of her. I talked to her tonight Sheryl really sounds great and says she is doing very well. As you can imagine, she is ready to go home! She ask me to let you all know that she misses talking to you and is very eager to get back online. Thanks for your prayers! I hope I have posted this to the correct page. Thanks, have a Blessed day! - Gerri

Topic: 13 days out and staples out today!!
Hi everybody, just wanted to say that I got my staples out today.. it wasn't bad but I made a lot of faces and clenched my fists alot.. hehe I told my surgeon I was gonna grab a hold of his coat in a minute lol. The nurse just said oh just grab his tie! lol I had surgery (laproscopic roux n y) on the 25th of June. I haven't lost as fast as you guys, I have lost about 15 pounds only since the 25th. But my surgeon said that was good and NOT to compare myself to others, but it is hard. lol He told me another week on full liquids and that I had the proximal surgery. Also my new pouch is about 30 cc's big (he said it was real small lol) The biggest problem I have had so far is getting in 64 oz of water a day.. but I am working on it. I pretty much live on sugar free pudding , sf applesauce, and carnation instant breakfast. He also told me that I needed to be walking as much as possible. I told him I enjoy walking around the mall cause it is just too hot outside lol... Take care all!

and I am on the losing side. I am down 34 pounds. This is thee best thing in the world I have ever done for me. I do not regret it at all and if I had to do it over again, I would in a heartbeat. Thank you Dr. Bauman and your staff at Piedmont Surgical Clinic, in Concord, NC for all that you have done to provide me with the tools necessary to change my life. Good luck to everyone who is scheduled for surgery and I am praying for your speedy recovery. To all who have had the surgery, WTG and keep up the good work. The losing side is wonderful!!

Topic: FOOD? I don't remember what that is...ha ha ha....
Hi Everyone, I'm 4 weeks post-op, and have lost 34 lbs. My doctor pushed me ahead to pureed foods at my 2 weeks check up. The problem I'm having is some of the foods I have had seem to feel like they are getting stuck as they enter the stomach. Yes, I chew and chew and take small bites. Has anyone had this type of problem? lAlso, it seems like my tastebuds have taken a vacation. Nothing tastes well at all. And does anyone have any good recipes to share...if you do I would love to try them.
