Topic: RE: Don't You Just Love Those Plateaus
You have all my simpathy on the plateau issue. My surgery was June 9, 2003, I started at 300lbs, am 5'8" and so far have lost 79lbs. Overall I am very happy with the weight loss but the plateaus are still hard to take, and for some reason they happen at the most inconvenient places, why couldn't I have one at 80lbs, not 79? Greedy I guess, but it is still frustrating.

Topic: RE: Don't You Just Love Those Plateaus
My surgery was June 2 and I've lost 57, so I'm behind everyone who has posted. I have had plateaus and one week I spent the entire week losing the 4 lbs that appeared from nowhere. The last 3 days I dropped 4 lbs - I have given up worrying about it. I am so happy with the way I look (and getting vain). If I can average 10 lbs a month for the first year I'll meet my goals. Also, now when I tell how much I've lost I add the 10 lbs I lost prior to my surgery; let's face it, those lbs were much harder to lose, so I'm taking credit. Call me Happy and down 68 lbs!

Topic: RE: 6/24 Surgery & trouble eating...
I hear you! I am now 3 months out and there are times when I just can't be bothered to eat. Just no appetite. Never thought that I would ever be feeling that. I also eat peanut butter with a lowfat cracker. I also use the smaller Detour bars at 15g of protein each. They are the best protein bars around. The taste is almost like a candy bar. There are larger ones that are 30g but the smaller ones can be found at WalMart for under $2 each. Hope this information helps.

Topic: RE: 7 week out and slow loser
Hello Becky,
My name is Brenda Holmes I am a slow loser also, I had my surgery 06/09/2003 I have only lost 62lbs. I do not exercise like I should and it is hard for me to get in all my protein. However, I have increased my water intake this week and I am exercising 3 day a week, and I lost 4lbs this week. Just be encouraged and dont let it get you down. I sometimes feel that everyone else is losing faster than me but I know that I have to break my bad habits of not putting my body in motion.
