Topic: 4 month update
Hello Everyone, I had my surgery on 6/23/03 and hit the 70 pounds lost today!!! I was sitting at 69 pounds for over a week. I started out at 244 and am 5'4". I am down to 174 today and have gone from a size 22 to a size 16. I have had several complications, including having my stoma close on me which caused vomiting 5 -6 times a day. But they opened that back up and things are going great now. My goal was to lose 100 by Christmas and I am not sure that I will make that goal, but thats OK. My hubby is taking me to Vegas for my 4 month anniversary of surgery and I am so excited about actually fitting into an airplane seat and being comfortable! I would never push or even strongly suggest to someone to have this surgery because of the problems I have had, and I would NEVER want to go through the past four months again. But now that I am feeling better it is worth it.

Sounds like you are doing really good. Those of us who have more to lose, tend to lose it faster. But hey a size 16 is nothing to complain about. I have gone from a size 26 to size 18. Looking forward to size 16, hopefully real soon. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like you are doing really great! Keep it up. My surgery was 6/3/03 and I am down 77 pounds. I am actually enjoying going clothes shopping for a change. Of course I can't buy much for it does not fit for very long. But that too is a good thing.

I am also 16 weeks post-op, as of yesterday. I am feeling better everyday. I have lost 80lbs so far. I would have this surgery again in a minute! Good luck to all. Casey in Maine

Well its been 16 wks and I am down 82lbs. Hard to believe, but with all the complications I have had it was expected. I am finally getting to the point of walking normal again. If it had not been for my sister I would not be here today. She was my angel through all of this. I am glad to be half normal at doing things again. Although I wouldn't have minded going to Six Flags this year with my daughter...Deb

Topic: Checking in
Believe it or not, I just found this reunion page. Didn't even know it existed. I've been doing great since the surgery. I'm one of the slow losers. I am down 57 pounds now and wearing a size 16 from a 22. Not realy eating much. Nothing appeals to me. It's become a chore rather than a enjoyment, as in the past. Hope everyone is doing great in their journey.

Topic: RE: how much do you eat
I can eat way too much. The other day I ate almost an entire bag of fat free popcorn. I decided then and there that it was time to invoke the Rules for the Pouch. I now water-load prior to eating and I eat much less. If I water-load correctly I can only eat about 1/2 cup of food and then I'm not desiring food until the next meal.
