Hi Melissa,
Great Job!!!!! I am 17 weeks out as well and have lost 65+!!! I feel great too and was also very lucky that I have had no complications at all and would definately recommend this to others. I started at 305 on the morning of surgery (6-26-2003) and today I am at 240!!! I started in a size 24-26 and am into lg/xlg tops and 18 bottoms, it feels awesome!!! Keep up the good work and feel free to respond. Good Luck in the future

Topic: 19 Weeks Out
Well - it has been 19 weeks and I am down 84 pounds. Loss is slowing up a bit and I am able to eat more too. I never get sick, never dump and have to watch that I don't overdo. However, I am still getting that "full" feeling that helps me lots. Lap RNY, 6/16/03, 336/252/?

Hi
I am 18 weeks out today. I have had a battle this entire time with protein. I just do not do well with meats. I spoke to our support group and they had several suggestions. I am doing great with beans, I put grated cheese and it taste great. I buy Wendys Chili the small with extra cheese, when I need to eat out. I eat lots of mozarella cheese and am doing well with any white cheese. i try to eat a little more cheese during the day due to the lack of protein in my system. the doctor also recommends drinking a WHEY shake 3 times a day, you can purchase at your local general nutrition store (GNC).
I am getting used to eating red meat, but it has to be very juicy and very small bites. Try eating a chili without beans its good. I always add extra grated sharp cheese to the chili.
There are other sources of soups that have protein but I think you need to purchase through the internet or a nutrinionist.
I hope this can help you.

Dear Karen,
You are doing great! Thanks for the update. It has given my own weight loss a baseline. I had the surgery five days after you and have lost 73 pounds, so you are doing absolutely fabulous.

Thanks Tonya, I finally broke down and went shopping but I did wait for a great sale. Size 16's are fitting well for now. I haven't seen the misses sizes since '93! I would like to lose 100 lbs before my 6 month anniversary and then another 20 til goal. I know the holidays are going to be rough but I WILL make it. Keep losing girl and good luck.
Topic: RE: hello all
I can't eat a lot of food at one sitting. For breakfast I have a protein shake, for lunch I eat a lean cuisine without whatever carbs are included (I just throw away the rice, pasta, potatoes, etc.) . Around 3pm, I have another protein shake and at dinner I eat about 2 ozs of meat and maybe two bites of salad or veggie. My pouch seems to be very small (not complaining) and I just can't hold much. In between meals, I drink lots of water (usually 10 glasses a day). It's very important that you eat or drink protein shakes!! You must get in the proper nutrition. Also drink tha****er!!!
Topic: Very Happy
It's been 18 weeks and I am down 66 pounds. I suffered few setbacks in the beginning, but I have never felt better. I only wished I had considered having this surgery earlier. I feel like I missed out on a part of my life, but believe me, I am living it up now.
