Topic: 5 months Post Op Today and down 100lbs
I forgot to mention that Ive lost 100lbs and my surgery was on June 4. I havent had any complications, but I dont drink protein drinks because they make me nausea. I havent had any milk or ice cream either, because Im scared im still lactose intolerant like before surgery. When I used the protein drink with water, then with milk I felt sooooo sick. I substitute by eating fish, red meat, chicken, tuna and eggs. I havent lost my hair, but my nails dont grow like they use too. I drink alot of water! I forget to take all of my 10 vitamins n meds a day, but I guess Im doing ok. I try to atleast remember my one a day vitamin.
Im flooding in my old clothes, they are all falling off of me. I purchased some new clothes today, but not too mnay because they wont be fitting long. Im losing an av erage of 20 lbs a month. Hope thats good..I feel great. I also started working out in the gym.
Good luck and I would love to hear how other are doing at 5 months

Topic: RE: ARGG!! ANOTHER PLATEAU!!
To get off a plateau, try changing things up a bit. Drink more water, eat only protein for a day or so, exercise more, etc. It sure sounds like you are doing great though! Don't sweat it!

OK SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME NOT TO THROW MY SCALE OUTSIDE IN THE BACKYARD! I know I am just being impatient but dannnnnng. I have lost from 290 to 208 since June 25th, 2003. SO that is 82 pounds gone, thank the LORD! But I have not seen the scale move in almost 2 weeks. I am one of those people that doesn't eat a whole lot. I may have 2-3 oz protein shake in the morning, 1/2 cup of soup/yogurt/something soft for lunch... and about 3 oz of chili/meat/something protein for dinner. I know at the beginning my pouch was only 30 cc's. but I know I can eat 3 oz now at a serving so that is almost 90 cc's. I will not eat more than 3 oz in a serving because it hurts my pouch real bad if I try to eat more than that. I guess I should actually be eating like 5 small meals a day but my job is kinda like production so it is very difficult to take 20 minutes to eat. I do try to stay hydrated and take my 2 flintstones everyday even if I forget the others LOL. Well I just wanted to vent because of my stupid scale.. take care and congrads to all of you!!
Topic: Surgery Success!!!!!
Hello All,
I have not posted any messages here and now I am wondering why the heck not? I had surgery on June 26th 2003 and feel so awesome. I am down 65+ lbs. and only struggling with one thing! PROTEIN!!! I just can't seem to get enough, my hair is falling out by the masses too!!! But all in all I would do this a hundred times over if I knew things would work out the way they have. I feel so totally different after just 65 lbs it is unbelievable. I started in a size 24-26 top and bottom and am now in a lg/xlg top and sizd 18 bottoms!! YEAH!! It feels great to be able to buy the clothes I always thought were cute and could never fit into. I don't exercise much, which is not good but I do what I have time for and I guess that's what counts right? I have people I know through work or mutual friends who have'nt seen me since before surgery who don't even recognize me now and wow is that the best feeling ever!!!!! I wish everyone who has had this surgery or is contemplating having it to have the same success that I have had, I feel better than I ever imagined. My type 2 diabetes is under control with no more medication which is the best I could have hoped for. I have'nt had acid reflux or heartburn since before surgery. My family is so supportive and I wish everyone could have that and I know some of you all don't so please feel free to e-mail me at anytime if you are looking for a shoulder, some advice or just a question, K. Be back soon!!!!!!!!!! The happiest "Loser" ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
