Topic: RE: anybody 5 months out? how are you doing?
I find that if I change my routine, I eat better. If you have a schedule, change it. Just like exercising, you do the same routine day after day, and you no longer see results. Try a different item. Something you haven't had in awhile, or something you never thought that you would try. Spice things up. I wanted lasagne, so I made a squash one. No meat, but cheese, sauce, and lots of squash. You will get out of the funk, I had mine at month 4. So I can feel for you. It takes a few weeks to get passed, but you can do it. You have come so far, what is a few weeks. Good luck to you, and have a blessed day. CONGRATULATIONS....76 lbs, you are doing wonderful

I am doing great. I am loving life. Down 104 lbs. This is incredible. Never felt so alive in my life. Had some pain in the beginning, the whole healing process. But I would not change a thing. Find myself having a snack or two, good ones, but still, need to watch it. Don't want old habits to follow. Food never tasted so good. I guess because I do not "need" it all the time, it just tastes better. I hope everyone else is doing as well. This was just the right "life-altering" tool I needed. Good luck to all of you, and may God Bless..

I have lost 97 pounds! I want to make it 100 by Friday which is my 47th birthday! I'm going to work extra hard this week to keep those devil-delicious carbs away from my mouth and go to Curves a few extra times! I think joining the Century Club will be a wonderful birthday present. Also, I am completely off my diabetes medicine -- sugar hasn't exceeded 114 since surgery! I am also off my asthma medicine and off my CPAP machine too -- I haven't had a new sleep study yet, so I can't say my sleep apnea is totally gone, but I am definately getting sleep now -- I feel much more energetic, no longer dragging my (fat) ass, and not needing to nap during the day. Also, my cholesterol dropped from 296 to 207, and I expect it to be even less during my six month blood work-up next month. Have a wonderful Sunday guys! Lap RNY, 6/16/03, 336/239/? --

I am so happy. Had my lap band placed on 6/12 and have had 2 fills at Columbia. Went to a meeting and everyone commented on how well I look and I have gone from a size 28-32 to a 22-24. I still have a ways to go but feel I can now do it with the help of my band. I was afraid of the surg. but it wasn't bad at all. I now walk 3-4 times per week and that helps so much. I can't wait until I get into a size without an x in it and I know it can and will happen.
Topic: RE: Surgery Success!!!!!
I had surgery on 6/26 as well. Seems we are having the same kind of luck. I have lost 95 lbs. It has been kinda slow the last 2 weeks and I was afraid I was in a plateau then yesterday 5 lbs were gone. I was elated. I started off with a bang and exercised as soon as I could. Then I got sick and it got colder outside and I stopped walking. I started walking again Tuesday of this week and I firmly believe if I keep exercising it will keep coming off. I too have had my hair falling out in drones. I have very thick, curly hair and to see it falling out like this is really freaking me out. I don't eat the amount of protien that I should and I don't drink the amount of water that I should either but I work on it everyday. I am so proud of you not being on any medicine anymore. It is such a relief to hear success stories. I just had to let you know. Keep your chin up...and keep us updated.

Topic: 5 Months out!!
WOW... so hard to believe it has been so long... don't seem that long ago. Well I have been fortunate in losing the weight... and for the most part I am sure the loss is due to surgery. I have not had any complications from the surgery except that I have a hard time getting the protien in daily but getting better... and I did begin the loss of my hair.... but now I have other problems not at all related to the surgery and dealing with that is hard. I was at a size 28 and 30 before surgery and now I am finally back into my size 20's which is great!!! I feel so skinny already and still have 60 or so more pounds to go. I am glad i kept all those old sizes so I don't have to buy much till I actually get down to a normal size! Well hope everyone is doing well ..... thanks for reading my message! Good Luck!
