Hang in there sweetie! You are right everyone is different. Please do not compare your loss to others, that will only make you feel bad. We do not want that happening...So, stay committed to the purpose as to why you had the surgery and everything will be fine. Maybe by writing down everything you put into your mouth and what feelings you are having when you are eating --it will give you some insight. Take care of yourself and be patient it will work out for you..God bless---Marilyn

I just had my 8 month anniversary on the 25th of Feb. I too am pleased that I was able to have this surgery option available to me. Since surgery, I have lost right at 100 pounds, but total weight, since my highest weight, I've lost 118. Or something like that. I'm wearing a size 10 jeans. Congrats on your success!

Linda, First off, congratulations on the weight loss you have achieved so far. Secondly, I'm not sure about your surgeon's protocol, but mine recommends eating only protein. And don't eat if you aren't hungry! He says that you don't have to eat ... just drink your water, take your vitamins, and exercise. His recommended daily intake of liquids (non-caffeine, non-carbonated, non-calorie) is 1 gallon. I do well to get in half that though. I had surgery on 6/17/2003 and this morning I weighed in at 182 pounds ... that's a 124 pound weight loss for me. Keep in touch ... would love to find out more about you and how you are doing. Have you tracked what you are eating through www.fitday.com? I do this whenever I get frustrated with my loss. It usually tells me what the problem is (too many carbs, not enough protein, too much sodium or fat). What are you eating daily? I can't imagine that you would be able to eat all that a WW diet wants you to eat.....

Topic: depressed not loosing enough
I was loosing fine until about 3 months ago, then I stopped, so I started out at 309, and stayed at about 268 for the longest time,so my nurse told me to start excercising 4 times a wk at least for 30 mins each, and to eat less fats. Well, I started and am following Weigh****chers, and it seems to be working, I still have a long way to go, but at least I am down to 260. Everyones metabolism (which i have none) is different. So I could use a little encourgement here. My surgery date was 6/2003. Oh I am still drinking water, and trying to keep up my protein

Topic: 8 months out as of Feb. 17th
Hello All, I finally got my internet connection back and just wanted to say hello to everyone and update you to my progress, I'm not sure how I'm doing on my weight-loss, I had open RNY on June 17, 03 starting out with a BMI of 41, weighing 240, although the day of surgery I was at 228, as of 2-17-03 I weighed 151, leaving 20 ponds until my goal weight is reached, does it seem like I'm not loosing fast enough? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, hope everyone is well, take care. Christina

Topic: 8-Month Update - What a Trip!
Well, it is now exactly 8 months since my Lap RNY in June and time for my monthly update. Things to be grateful for since WLS and losing 127 pounds: · No longer having Type II diabetes · No longer having weight-based asthma · No longer having sleep apnea, and actually being able to sleep and wake rested · Having energy to spare! · Having my cholesterol drop over 100 points · Being within spitting distance of breaking the 200-pound mark - somewhere I haven't been for over 25 years! · The thrill of shopping for clothes, and being almost able to wear "normal" sizes. · Being able to cross my legs under my desk · Being able to fit in a coach airline seat with no seatbelt extension or having to raise the armrest. · Being able to walk easily without concern · Being able to speak without panting and breathing heavy (unless I want to)! · Feeling both physically and emotionally stronger to better able me to care for my DH who's ill · Wanting to "strut" at times · Being able to pass on my too big clothes to worthy people and causes without worrying if I'll ever need them again · Thankful for my local support group, and thankful for the AMOS friends I've made on this site. Come on and finish my list - what do you have to be grateful for? Lap RNY 6/16/03 - 336 / 209 / 150?
