Hi Kim, I have been eating alot more lately. You are right, It is very scary. It has caused me to really pay attention to what I eat. I also started working out every day, to try to combat the difference. I started at 419lbs, size women's 38-40 (if I was lucky) and now at 200lbs, size 14-16, I want to loose 40 more lbs.

I have also noticed an increase not only in the portion sizes that I can eat but also an increase in my desire to eat. I started out at 271 and am now 151. I also was pregnant during my first year post-op so that may have made a difference. I can now eat a whole piece of pizza. I need to star****ching more closely WHAT I am eating and maybe not so much how much I am eating.

Hi all.......I started at 248, size 22 and now 138, size 6, and I have noticed that lately, I can eat a whole lot more. I mean like almost normal portions lately. Sometimes I can eat a whole sandwich. I don't like that at all. It's very scary. I don't ever want to be able to eat normal again. Any one else noticing this?

WELL IT'S BEEN 18 MONTHS AND I NOW WEIGH 224 DOWN FROM 440 JUNE OF 2003. THATS A 216 POUND LOSS. I HAVE GONE FROM A SIZE 60 TO 16-18. I CAN WALK ANYWHERE I WANT, EXERCISE WITHOUT BECOMING SHORT OF BREATH. I FEEL GREAT AND I SO WISH I HAD THIS AT A YOUNGER AGE. FOR THOSE WHO ARE SUPER HEAVY WEIGHT LIKE I WAS, GET THE SURGERY, IT CHANGES YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER. I AM NOW THINNER THAN I WAS WHEN I MARRIED 36 YEARS AGO. JUST SO HAPPY WITH THE SURGERY. THANKS.

Try this site for realistic weight goals... and I agree, the scale is not always the best choice, because when you gain muscle you gain weight even though you lose inches... http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

Congrats Linda! I started at about the same weight as you and have lost about the same amount also. I just had a tummy tuck and hysterectomy on November 10 and I am engaged! Life is so very different and wonderful now.

I'm 1 1/2 years post-op, hard to believe, but I'm down from a size 26/28 to a size 10! I weigh 140 lbs., down from 306+ prior to surgery on June 25th, 2003! My life is ever so much different now, it's just so hard to explain in just a few words. I guess really I just "have a life now". I also am dating, and having men actually look my way and make positive comments onmy looks. It's a totally weird feeling.
