I had my surgery on June 9, 2003. I'm excited about the weight lost and how I'm staring to recognize the me I use to know years ago. I do want to know if anyone is having problems in staring to eat soft foods like grits? I tried to eat some today because my doctor told me to start on my soft foods today and I experienced severe stomach cramps. I'm afraid to try to put anything else soft in my stomach. Any suggestions.

Hi Angela, I had surgery on 6/4 and I'm having problems with grits. and hard boiled eggs. No cramps but it comes back up. I love fruits and have found that I can take cantalope and mask with my hand blender its makes like a great fruity dessert. Down 29 lbs as of today! Good Luck.

I had my surgery on June 10th. Tomorrow is my 2 week anniversary. I've lost 22 pounds. I've eaten a scrambled egg with cheese, almost the whole things (Of course it was a small egg). I haven't tried grits, didn't like them before and won't eat them now. The best thing I've found is watermelon. I can eat a lot of it and it doesn't get me sick, remember it is mostly water. I drank a bit of milk last night and got stomach cramps, they were no fun. I have no intentions of getting sick, no milk for a while for me. Best wishes.

Hi I am one week post -op and have not started on soft foods yet. But every thing I read did not classify Grits and soft food. Cream of Wheat is classified as soft. Try putting the grits in a blender first it they may be easier to digest. karon
