Am I eating too much?
I am one week from surgery. I have been following the suggested meals (if you can call them that);sometimes it sees like all I am doing is eating. The smell of real food is still calling my name. I keep telling myself to give it a little time and will be able to eat real food (something to bite into). Have any of you had this problem? Also my incision is weeping a lot. I called the surgeons office and he says it is fine as long as it it not thick or smells. Wanted to know if you too have had this problem. How long does it last? Thanks to all!!
Hi Carol
I am 2 weeks post op and I too found myself asking the same questions at 1 week, the food does seem to haunt you. I am happy to tell you that once I began on the second phase of eating (cottage cheese, yogurt, etc) the food hauntings eased. It seemed I was hungry about every 2 hours, so I asked my daughter (who had the surgery in Dec 02) if that seemed extreme, and she said it sounded about right to her.
Hi Carol
I know what you mean about the suggested meals. Today for the first time I had some cream of chicken soup it tasted great. No problems. Also this is the first day I did not have diarrhea so that was a blessing. You would be having your week follow up visit soon and will probably move to the next stage. YES THE FOOD IS CALLING ME TOO!!! Hang in there.
