pre op visit

6-10-03 I had my pre op visit yesterday. I am now on Carnation Instant Breakfast (No sugar) for 5 times a day for the next 2 weeks until surgury. I hope it gets better. All I can think about is food right now. Dr. Foote uses this instead of more expensive protein drinks. I'm glad, because they cut $560 off of my bill because I don't need any protein product. I found out that my surgury is considered proximal. This means that they don't bypass as much of my intestine. I think this is probably a good thing. My family is worried that I will be malnourished after surgury. They told me yesterday that I will take prenatal vitiamins after my stomach is healed. Now I am taking Flintstones chewable vitamins. They aren't so bad. I had heard that they taste bad, but have not found that to be true. The PA also said that I don't need to worry about whether they are sugar free or not since they don't have that much sugar in them. I am going to go to my water aerobics class this afternoon. I worry that my blood sugar will drop low since I am not eating anything except the CIB shakes now. I guess I will find out. I have been wondering how soon I will be able to drive my car after laprascopic surgury. If anyone knows, please let me know.
