My sister and I both have our first appointment with Dr Freeman on June 26th. I am still scared. One day I think you better believe I am having this surgery, if my insurance approves. Then the next I think, I could really stick to a diet if I just tried one more time. The only thing I do know is I've got to do something. I hate everything about being fat, with my looks being one of the least upsetting things. As those of you who are or were overweight know. There is so much that just can't be done because of all this extra baggage. I could go on for ever about my feeling but I'll stop at that. Just please keep me and my sister in your prayers.
Sonya:
I read your post and just had to write back to you. It took me two years to decide that I could not lose weight on my own. I think the kicker was the car accident I was in a year ago. I kept apologizing to the EMT's for being so fat!
My sister and I are very close. She was on Redux and, long story short, she is now facing open heart surgery to replace/repair her mitral valve. She was supposed to have this surgery on February of this year. Her heart surgeon at the Mayo Clinic told her he wasn't sure she would survive the open heart surgery and she simply had to lose weight. Well, I didn't tell my sister that I had made an appointment with a bariatric doctor the Monday after her surgery until her suergery had been cancelled! She made an appointment with the same doctor on the same day. As of today, my sister has her procedure at 9:00 on June 30. I have mine at noon on June 30! We are both excited and looking forward to losing weight and getting our lives back.
