From one fellow Texan to another......you look AWESOME!!!!! I wish I would have had the RNY when I had my VBG.....it wasn't an option for me....or at least I was told it wasn't. I wish you continued success and blessings for the future!!!!! Shannon Nichols 6/02 VBG 6/04 awaiting revision to RNY

Topic: Trouble with my VBG.....STILL!!!! I am now planning revision
Hi all!!! Congrats on your losses I haven't lost much more than in the first year.....well I vomit constantly and ended up throwing up my birth control pills one too many times and ended up pg with my beautiful little girl!!!! I have been to a gastro doc, been scoped, had an upper GI and now on to another surgeon for a revision to an RNY I HOPE! Can anyone tell me what I should expect...how different is the RNY from the VBG recovery wise? I will appreciate any input or advice Thanks everyone!!

Topic: RE: 17 months out
Hi I am 24mths out and was exactly like you at 17 mths In fact I got to 185 lbs from 302 -117lbs and then I started gaining. I am leveled off at 194, but feel that I should really start to diet. I eat normally, but recently found the pouch rules for dummies under a web search and find that if you try to follow this and high protein you can start losing again. I also want to join a gym, but never seem to follow through. I did have ps and that helped with the inches. but I want to lose more weight. I hear you can safely lose 20 pounds and not affect the ps/tt results. Oh well. How are you doing now?

I AM SO EXCITED TO HAVE FINALLY LANDED WHERE I AM. ANYONE CONSIDERING WLS OR PS I CAN TELL YOU I WOULD BE MISERABLE AND LONELY AND LIVING FOR FOOD. I RECENTLY UPDATED MY PROFILE ABOUT WLS AND PS AND CAN TELL YOU I LOVE MY LIFE AND AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.

Well Hello all who have had surgery for the gastric bypass in June 2002. It has been almost 2 wonderful years. I started out at 323lbs and now weigh 155lbs and I'm still losing. Only 15lbs to my goal. But how do you know when you have lost enough weight. I can now wear a size 12-14, and I'm quite content with this size. I wish the best to all who have had the surgery and the best to all future WLS patients.

I AM ALSO CONSIDERING HAVING AN UPPER ARM, TUMMY TUCK, THIGHS AND BOOB LIFT. THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I MAY FACE IS THAT MY INSURANCE HAS CHANGED SINCE MY OPERATION. SO THE NEW INSURANCE MAY CONSIDER MY SITUATION AS A PRE- EXISTING PROCEDURE. IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME, PLEASE FORWARD IT TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WARMEST REGARDS, DENNY [email protected]
