Hi Bambi and the other lady's out there that answered my post. Thanks for your support. I was getting on the right track and now was was given a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I can not get in to see a rheumotologyist until Feb. Before I was diagnosis I did attend a meeting and meet of couple of very nice lady's. I very worried about the RH. The pain in my feet hands and wrist are really bad. My Dr. has me on Predinsone for 14 day that has been wonderful, But I don't know what will happen after. My husband is a great support. I'm not working wright now. Had to turn down a job. I do Home Health Care. I couldn't left myself off the toilet. So I new that I would not be any help to any one else. This is all new to me. And every one I talk to has nothing good to say about it. I hoping the Dr I see in Feb will give me a more positive out look. For now I feel good with no pain at least for 14 days. I know that I need to get it together because it will help with my arthritis. One day at a time. Thank You again Patti

Hey Patti, I am also two plus years out and have gained a couple of pounds, but I never originally lost as much as I wanted to. I'm fixin to get back to the basics, no sugar (which has been my biggest demon since WLS cos all of a sudden I developed a sweet tooth which I'd not had before!), focus on protein, vitamins and water (I drink Propel which Sam's carries for a very reasonable price!). I'm also going to move my butt a lot more--I walk a mile or so each day but I dont really do much else for exercise. Instead of focusing on gaining weight, focus on what you wanna accomplish---When you wanna feel better, rather than eat your way out of it, how bout logging onto this site and write me or someone you know an email to vent? Remember where you came from and how far you've come---we can both do this---heck, we ALL can do this---we just have to be stronger mentally. What do you say??? Bambi 6/4/02 298.5/197 fluctuating right now!

Hey Karen, I have no hip pain but horrible back pain when I lay down so it may be the hip bone. I have no idea why!

Patti, I have gained 11lbs and still gaining because I am back loving soda and carbs! Now, the gas thats brought on by Carbs is enough to make ANYBODY STOP BUT I HAVE NOT! I am going back on Protein Shakes and Liquid diet in January! I think I have gotten comfortABLE AND STOPPPED DOING ALL THE EXERCISING AND WATER DRINKING I NEED TO* JUST GO BACK TO WHAT YOU DID IN THE BEGINNING*

I'm a little over 2 yrs post op and have had my plastics done now. I went from a size 10/12 to a 4/6 after plastic surgery and lost 15 lbs with that (LBL). I would love to lose another 10-15 lbs but everyone including my doctor says NO WAY. I tend to be on the other end of the stick. I could become anorexic easily because I freak about a pound fluctuation. It's harder the longer post op you are either from going back into gaining or losing when you shouldn't. Guess everyone is so different. I do eat healthy most all the time but I will also sometimes eat and think I have eaten too much so I flu**** out with water.....that's a bad habit too because you don't get the nutrition. I try to eat about 1000 calories a day but the dietician told me at my year follow up I should be eating around 1400 calories, I am interested in hearing what she says at my follow up (2yr post op) appt the end of this month. HUGS and best wishes to you.

Patti, I understand your concerns. I slight weight gain about a month ago. I have been able to get the weight back off. But, it seems ever time I eat anything with carbs esp. bread I go back up a pond or 2. I would love to lose another 30lbs. But, right now I'm just trying to hold my own. I have seen resaerch that shows that about 85% of post-op patients gain about 30lbs. I don't intend to be in that 85%. I'm going to do everything in my poer to be included in the other 15%. Diane

I am the poster child for the surgery. I've lost 165 lbs with no real problems. I do have pains in my hip joints, especially when sleeping. Has anyone else had this problem?
