Topic: 2 years out and struggling......
It has been 2 years today[6-27-03] and over all been okay except with a 15 pound weight gain. I started out being 200 pounds over weight and lost a total of 145 pounds. I find myself getting back into my old habits more so when I am under stress. Iam a working wife & mother who works part time during the day and also part time in the evening to get my husband through school with what time I am not working at my evening job I am playing catch up at home or simply just exhausted to do anything at all including exercise. I have not done any exercise at all for 8 months and I know that is alot of my problem. I never have any regrets and I know I am a far cry from where I was 2 years ago but I am not at my target weight and I still have 65 more pounds to go. If I had to do it all over again I would have done twice the exercise in the very beginning, the more you get off in the beginning the better off you are when you become a year or more post-op. Iam planning on quitting my evening job so I can start getting back on track and taking care of myself. In Dec. of 2002 I had the excess removed from my stomach and am happy with those results, June 30,2003 I am having a breast reduction.
Topic: 2 years out and still doing well
it has been 2 years ago today that I had my open rny. I had surgery to remove the excess skin 5/16/03 and I am very happy with the results. I lost an additional 20 pounds following that procedure which put me below 200. I have been able to hold my weight over the last two years which adds to my self esteem and confidence.
Topic: OMG up 10 lbs
I have gained back about 15-20 lbs from my lowest. Clothes are starting to get tight and I feel like crap. I am still exercising everyday, but I have been drinking almost every night. I also have been eating anything and everything in sight. Just like the old days. I am scared to death to regain all the weight. So, today I am back to square one and drinking a protein shake for breakfast and I will be downing my water and eating veggies and meat with shakes in between. That is my commitment. So here we go.
Topic: RE: ObesityHelp Magazine is waiting for you!
I would like to know if the magazine will be available to purchase in a store like Barnes & Noble or even a grocery store. Reason is that I move around alot and don't get my magazines forward always. Thankyou Marcia Rohrbough

Heading towards my two year anniversary on 6-19-01. I have stabilized at 155 from 266 and am okay with that. Would I love to be one of the ones who got to 135 or 145..yes, but I still count my blessings. In my clothes, I look great and most people are surprised to hear what I used to weigh and that I had the surgery. I know I would lose about 5-10 pounds with plastics, but was denied by Aetna at 12 months post-op, but will probably try again. I feel so lucky and healthy! No complications and all blood work has always been excellent. Thanks for asking the question!

Hi,
I'm doing well. I've lost a total of 110 and have recently been pushing and am losing again. Slowly, but still able to lose like "normal" people do! I went from a size 34/36 to a size 16/18. I'm glad I had the surgery, and I'm glad to know that I'm still capable of losing weight. At the time I had the RNY, I was told that there w

Well, I am experience weight regain. I have gained about 10-15 lbs back and it might as well be 100. I feel like crap. My clothes are getting tight and I know that I need to quit eating junk and grazing. I also have gotten into the alcohol and need to quit that.

I am doing GREAT!!! I've lost 135lbs altogether and I am wearing 8/10's. I would love to have everything lifted and tucked but that's not going to happen anytime soon, but I still love the new me. I can't believe that it's been almost 2 years, I had surgery on the 26th of June. I tell everyone that I would do it all over again and that it's the best thing I ever did for myself. God Bless everyone and take care. Deb James

I'm ok, i'm going through some ruts, feeling like what i've lost is not enough. I've lost 80 pounds. I think everyone goes through it though. I just keep pulling out the pictures of the old me and know that that person is not the one I am today!
