Topic: 4 years post-op !!!
Well as of last month I am 4 years post-op and I am very dissaponited in myself. All those years I had tried to stay where I was at last and now I have gained a total off 37 -38 lbs back... God I knew this was only a tool as the doctor had told me before I had the surgery, but well so goes life. Wishing my gravings for pop and sweets would have never returned but they did, i am not constantly eating them but, ever so often its like its calling me...Come and get me... so what do i do i get it...*sighs*.. Need to see what can be done and if i am able to have the pouch altered to a smaller size again. But we'll see about that... Hope that everyone else is doing better then me and god bless.... Birgit...

Hi Vicki- I just read your post about regaining some of your weight. I am 3+ years post-op like yourself and do find myself struggling. I have alos put some weight back on and have now had to remind myself to go back to the basics...something I had quit. Back to walking, drinking water and protein and so on. I hope that you are in a better space and doing well. Support is out there for all of us. Best wishes..... Shelly

Nicole, I feel for you. I had my RNY Jan 2002 lost 135 and have gained 30 just this year. I've had a lot of emotional stresses plus I quit smoking but I also know that I'm always gazing, like I eat pop tarts..both of them!! I eat everything that made me fat before and I know I need to stop. I have so many clothes from last winter and unless I take off those 30 pounds, I'm not going to have anything to wear. At least I'm catching it at 30 pounds. What happened to you Nicole? This is a tool we were given. I don't want to be fat again. In fact I just had a tummy tuck and face lift. Are you doing any better now????

Hi Nicole Im sorry to hear bout your weight gain. I had my surgery Oct 11, 2001 and Im starting to gain. I know why an its coz im not using the tool that they gave us. Have recently discovered im a emotional eater. The only way to stop the emotional stuff is to deal with them. Yes its very hard but with the help of my outside contacts, Im beginning to loose weight again. Email me at [email protected] would love to hear from you...

Topic: RE: 2 years out and struggling......
Hi Tovey. Unfortunately I am glad I am not the only one that still struggles with my weight and eating. I will be three years post-op on the 8th and I had gained 30 pounds after losing 150. I had kept it off for a year and then I slacked off on my exercise. That's when it started to creep back. I got back into many of my bad eating habits again. It's scary in a way. I worked so hard to get to where I had been. I don't want to go back to where I had been. I finally got back on track with eating and exercise and lost 17 lbs and then I broke my foot. I have been in a cast for 7 weeks and I gained 9 lbs back. I am trying to control what I eat so I don't gain anymore back. I will probably have this cast on for another month or so. I have been using crutches since I broke it so I could not do any aerobic exercies. Once I get a walking cast on I hope I can at least use my Gazzell again. It's hard to stay focused in this crazy stressed out world. I just read over my profile and I realized that I need to get that excitement back about my weight lose and good health.
