The yo yo is still swinging
I am not doing very well right now. At 3 years post op I have gained back 45 of the approximately 125# I lost. After having an upper GI done, it was found that my stomach is twice the size it should be. The original surgeon left it at 60 cc, 30 more than most, and I have stretched it too much. I have tried for a revision, but was denied by my insurance. I am planning on an appeal. I am not sure that I truly understood that this was a tool, not an answer. Jill
Shirley,
I had forgotten I posted this. I went through hoops and still cannot get a revision from my insurance (BS) They say you have to meet the original criteria to have surgery. I am holding here, but am unhappy. I was in the hospital for 2 days with my liver way out of wack due to the surgery and just found out last week from my dentist, that due to the surgery and increased gerd, my teeth are getting cavities up near the gum line which is very hard to control. The worst part is living with all the problems, but not having the weight loss. Jill
I am mid-way through the preparation for RNY and am very, very eager to know how all of you are at this point after your surgeries. I am been attempting to cease all between-meal snacks in preparation for post-op ( My doctor refers to it as the SMART diet--Stop Munching and Really Try!). Please let me hear how you've done since this post?

Hi Jill,
I'm Denise and just found this area in obesity help. Really, I haven't been to this site in ages. I just posted my dilemma so won't repeat it here. How are you doing now a couple months later from when you posted.
I don't think my pouch is stretched as when I eat the protein foods, I fill up very quickly. It's when I eat the junk food, that I can eat a LOT.
I plan to try again and lose 50 lbs but will try to set goals of 10lbs at a time.
Please feel free to email me at [email protected]
