My Surgery is May 1st....a week from today. I have had all the test done, my approval is good.....I feel like I should be more nervous.....Good luck to all....

I too have to go on a pre op diet, but olny for 8 days. The first 7 are protien shakes and them 1 day of clear liquids.I am so nervous i can't remember the last time i felt like this about anything. I"ve had 2 previous surgeries that were preshceduled and i was no where as worried as i am about this one.I quess that i am so aprehensive is because that this come years in the making. I have thougth about this since i weight about 250 pounds. Now i'm at 360 and know that had i have done this sooner i would not have half the health issues that are demanding this now.

hi teddy my name is christa i also go in on the 21st and start the diet on the 7th i found out april 10th and man i dont think the time could go any slower it is the 22 today so that meens 29 more days and i am so ready i dont feel all that scared but when the day comes and reality hits i no i will be scared i have been all over the internet researching the vsg (thats what im getting) and i dont seem to find really anybody that has to many complications with the surgery anyway i think its cool i found sombody with the same dates as me so hopfully we can keep intouch congrats to you and everone else we all understand what eachother is going through and its nice to have sombody to talk to

 Hi , congrats!!! Your big day is almost here. I would love to have another friend along this journey so please add me. I am afraid to look down the road,,i know may is just around the corner but I try not to think about it. I start my liqud diet on May 15 so i will be a few weeks behind you. Which surgery are you having? I keep hoping I am making the right choice, then I look in a mirror and I realize that I have no other choice. I want to live life,,not sit by and watch everyone else. Did you have to do any pre opp testing? I have an EGD to do and I have pre opp classes to take before my big day. I havent had too many other surgeries and i am a huge weiney where pain is concerned. What worries you most about the surgery? Its ssssoooo nice to have someone else who understands whats going on in my head, its hard to explain to others if they have never walked in these shoes. I understand exactly how you feel. It took me almost a year to get everything done so that i could get the surgery.. Mine is scheduled for May 7th. The closer the day gets  the more scared i get. I've had other major surgeries before but this one has taken so long that i can't believe the day is almost here. I start my liquid diet on April 29th.I f you like we can be friends and watch each others progress. I know i would like to have a friend with me along this journey. Good Luck.
