May 14 was my date - home and doing great

Hi there
Today is Thursday and I had my RNY on Monday - I am home since last night and doing great. No complications, the hospital stay was uneventful, my wonderful surgeon (Alex Nagle at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago) said I was on an "A" course. I have been able to get in 73 grams of protein today, mostly through shakes - I am really full but otherwise ok. I got outside and walked three times today, half a block each time but still. I just wanted to give those who are still preop a little hope that things can go well. I know I am only a few days out and more challenges lie ahead but I was so worried about the horror stories I had read about the hospital, the immediate hellish aftermath - so far, so good. I am just focusing on following my doctor's orders to the letter. Hang in there May 2012-ers! Good luck to all

Good to hear thanks for the update!

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!

Thanks for the update.  My surgery was Wednesday and it was also uneventful to the point of being boring.  Almost got sent home a day early I was doing so well.
