So Monday I started my two week liquid diet, I am actually doing well with it, but this week so far has been a bit of torture at work. There is an audit this week so everyday they have lunch brought into the boardroom right next to my office...ugg....so I figure it like this...if I can make it through this I should be able do just fine my pre-op diet.....looking forward to the future and I am just stubborn enough to stick to it!!! Whew thanks, I needed to vent a little about all the food surrounding me this week.

At home, hubby is being great, he hasn't been having me make dinner, he is eating before I get home from work (he gets home a couple of hours before me). I didn't ask him to do this, he just said hey don't worry about me you just take care of yourself right now...What a sweetie...30 years together and he is still very considerate.....

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!

Your husband sounds wonderful! I started Monday and so far it has been pretty easy. I'm a single mom and bought stuff for my 14 year old to make, however she is choosing cereal over "cooking"! Last night however, after a school concert, she asked if I would take her to get a milkshake. I conceded with a trip to the store where she would pick out ice cream so I wouldn't have to see it, while I was shopping for some low sugar yogurt for post op. Other than that, as I said, it has been fairly easy. I've been drinking a lot of fluid and haven't been hungry but was quite happy this morning when I woke up, realizing I get my allotment of 7 beverages. Food addict - nah

I have a great husband also. Lucky girl...I am tired of the shakes though. I have been on pre-op since saturday. My boss brought doughnuts to work today and I hid in my office like a coward until I was sure they were eaten!!!  My surgery is the 15th and I just had my last preop appt. with my doc this morning. Nervous, excited and hungry. Best of luck to you!!!

Oh best of luck to you on the 15th!! Yea so far I have been lucky that I am not sick of the drinks yet...having a supportive spouse is great! He said last night when I asked if he wanted me to make him dinner " NO I am not going to have you cook, then have us eat in front of you (my 20 year old son lives with us right now, to save money, he usually fends for himself). My hubby then said, if we just make sure we have stuff in here that we can fix we will just eat on a different schedule so you don't have to see it...How sweet is that, I really thought that is what he was doing because he gets home from work 21/2 hours before I do and I noticed he wasn't eating when I am home, evertime I would ask him if he was hungry he says nope I am good I had something. Then last night he says I am ready to get healthy with you so once I start cooking again and am trying out all these healthy recipes I guess he will try them as well.....

That's great. I'm glad you are not sick of the shakes yet. I started drinking some fat free chicken broth with unflavored jello dissolved in it for extra protein, and that has made all the difference. Something savory and warm instead of sweet and cold all the time. My hubs is getting us a treadmill so we can *both* use it! This is a huge step for him! I'm so proud...
