my surgery date is May 29

 Still numb. Not excited yet cause I still have a hard time believing that this is really going to happen. Did anyone else feel this way?

My surgery date is on May 21st and I feel exactly the same. Insurance has denied me before and now that I have the approval I still can't believe it. The 21st seems so far away :) but enough time to get things done I guess :)

 Hi Teddy18. Congratulations on your approval and may surgery!!  I agree that may seems like it will never get here. What kind of weight loss surgery are you having? I guess my surgery day will eventually get here but this journey has been long and very stressful. If you would like to keep in touch as we get ready for our BIG day please feel free to add me as a friend. What kinds of tests do you have to do before surgery? I have to go and have an ultrasound of my liver. Then meet with my surgeon. At that time we will go through what is going to happen on the day we all been waiting for :) also have to get labs done and a health screen. I already did a sleep apnea test and a stress test. All of this and I start my liquid diet on May 7th... Plus I have a one year old that I have to get a babysitter for. I have been working on getting the approval that now that I have it i am in wow mode. I have a lot of things to get done...
Again I am happy to be able to have someone that knows what I am going threw. Thanks :)

hi teddy my name is christa i also go in on the 21st and start the diet on the 7th i found out april 10th and man i dont think the time could go any slower it is the 22 today so that meens 29 more days and i am so ready i dont feel all that scared but when the day comes and reality hits i no i will be scared i have been all over the internet researching the vsg (thats what im getting) and i dont seem to find really anybody that has to many complications with the surgery anyway i think its cool i found sombody with the same dates as me so hopfully we can keep intouch congrats to you and everone else we all understand what eachother is going through and its nice to have sombody to talk to

Hello OH! My name is Tabetha. I have been approved for my surgery. My date is May the 17th and I must agree with you it does feel like time is slowing down tremendously . I want to say congratulations to the all that have got approved and for to the one's that have not Do Not give up!

I know how you feel. My RNY Gastric Bypss surgery is scheduled for May 14. It's taken me almost two years to get to this point and I still can't believe it's happening. I am excited but nervous.

I understand exactly how you feel. It took me almost a year to get everything done so that i could get the surgery.. Mine is scheduled for May 7th. The closer the day gets  the more scared i get. I've had other major surgeries before but this one has taken so long that i can't believe the day is almost here. I start my liquid diet on April 29th.I f you like we can be friends and watch each others progress. I know i would like to have a friend with me along this journey. Good Luck.

 Hi , congrats!!! Your big day is almost here. I would love to have another friend along this journey so please add me. I am afraid to look down the road,,i know may is just around the corner but I try not to think about it. I start my liqud diet on May 15 so i will be a few weeks behind you. Which surgery are you having? I keep hoping I am making the right choice, then I look in a mirror and I realize that I have no other choice. I want to live life,,not sit by and watch everyone else. Did you have to do any pre opp testing? I have an EGD to do and I have pre opp classes to take before my big day. I havent had too many other surgeries and i am a huge weiney where pain is concerned. What worries you most about the surgery? Its ssssoooo nice to have someone else who understands whats going on in my head, its hard to explain to others if they have never walked in these shoes. i have had to have blood work,an ekg,chest exray,doplar ultrasound of my leg(don't understand that one). Not looking forward to the liquid diet, i am a big fan of food. I quess that is what got me in this place to begin with. I too want to be able to enjoy life not just sit around and watch. I have 2 grand kids that i really need to be able to keep up with and as of now i can't do that. I am having a gastric bypass, i did not want to try the lap band bacause of the maintinence i think it will be to have to have to go to the dr every couple weeks for readjustment.. I tp am glad to have somone along with me on this journey. Muy family is not even in apporval of my getting the surgery, i just hope that they change after i have had it done and need there hep with my recovery. I will keep you up to date on the liquid diet,not my favorite part either.
