I had my rny on the 25th and I haven't seen the scale move in 4 days. Have you been drinking your protein shakes and water? I Actually went a couple of days without the protein because it is so horrible. I think that may have something to do with the stall on top of the fact that my exercise was a tybo VHS and my Vcr broke about a week ago

Is it really possible to have a stall 2 weeks out from surgery?? I haven't lost anything in the past WEEK...is this really possible after bypass? I started walking today so maybe that will jump start the weight loss again...I did loose close to 13 lbs that very first week after surgery.. (I had RNY 5/26/2010)

Topic: Surgeries on May 18, 2010 What are you eating?
I had the VSG on 5/18 and just curious as to what everyone was eating who had surgery around that time. Maybe we could get some ideas from each other??

I am on to Pureed/Soft diet.....so I have incorporated eggs, tuna and riccotta cheese into my diet along with all the other stuff yogurt, protein shakes etc. I am a little bored with it. Any got in good recipes?

Just curious...

Topic: RE: HOW are all the May Flowers doing ?
I had my RNY on May 25th. Right now, the biggest challenge seems to be fluids.  I am getting them in, but when my hands are busy (folding clothes, washing dishes, etc), I am not focusing on sipping.
I lost 24 pounds before surgery and have lost another 9 afterwards.  I do seem to be stuck at 245ish.  I am anxious to get through this time.

I really feel great!  I had very little pain after the 1st day post-op.  Getting my staples out was a huge improvement--no more pulling & pinching!

I started soft/pureed foods this weekend and it felt great to actually "eat" something.  I am anxious to try new foods.  It will make me feel more like a normal person.  My family went out to eat last night and I went, too.  My children were gracious to share with me.

Topic: RE: Tomorrow (Thurs. May 27th) is my BIG DAY!!!
From One Sister to Another: I had RNY on the same day. I only told my husband, son and 2 friends. I didn't want any negative vibes either. I told everyone else I was leaving town (it was in a different city). Our folks can be especially negative about this. Even my minister made critical statements about the surgery one Sunday. She is overweight and was probably talking herself out of doing it!  I believe that is is a gift from God and an answer to many prayers. It's a tool, not an easy way out. We still have to work hard, excercise and follow our food plans. Anyway, I'm really happy that I made the decision. I'm looking forward to a lighter life. I'll eventually tell everyone when they get a chance to see that I am healthier than before. I feel great. Hope all is well with you.

CONGRATS!!!  I have lost 18 lbs so far.  I have my follow up on the 10th.  Has your incisions closed up yet?  I didn't come home with a tube.  My incision in my navel still has not closed up, UGH....  I have been cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide with the hope that it will help it heal quicker.
