3 days! What is everyone doing for pre-op diets? I only have to do a liquid diet on Sunday and then not eat after midnight.

I was originally scheduled for April 7th only to have it canceled due to some blood work problems.  My potassium has now corrected itself (no one knows why it was high in the first place) so I'm having my final blood work on the 10th.  I hope everything is fine this time.

I had been on the full liquid diet and was one day away from the surgery when it was canceled.  I have continued with the protein shakes, other protein, and no carbs.  I had just gotten past that horrible carb withdrawal headache so I figured if I was ready to give things up starting April 7th, I could give them up waiting for a new surgery date.  I have also taken this time to decaffeinate myself.  I'm only drinking decaf coffee and no sodas. 

The cancellation may have been a blessing in disguise (everything happens for a reason).   I now have a better understanding of what the eating part of my life will be like after surgery and I've lost 20 pounds this month.

After reading some of the posts on here I realize that I am not alone.  Many of us are having the same feelings.  I am scared, excited, and still wondering if I am making the right choice.  I talked to a woman post op of 6 years and she told me that I would probably hate myself at first, but in the long run I will be thankful  that I did.  I have my mother, sister, and a good friend whom are support for me as they have already have had the surgery.  I am lucky for this.
