is it possible to have a stall 2 weeks post-op?
Is it really possible to have a stall 2 weeks out from surgery?? I haven't lost anything in the past WEEK...is this really possible after bypass? I started walking today so maybe that will jump start the weight loss again...I did loose close to 13 lbs that very first week after surgery.. (I had RNY 5/26/2010)
I had my rny on the 25th and I haven't seen the scale move in 4 days. Have you been drinking your protein shakes and water? I Actually went a couple of days without the protein because it is so horrible. I think that may have something to do with the stall on top of the fact that my exercise was a tybo VHS and my Vcr broke about a week ago
I had mine on May 25th too, and haven't seen the scale move for about 8 days. Everyone tells me not to worry--that my body is in "shock" right now from surgery--thinking that it is being starved. My doctor said they don't even weigh patients until 1 month out due to the surgery recovery. They tell me just keep doing what you need to do and your body will eventually cooperate. It is frustrating to me to see others losing so much right away, but we are all individuals. I lost 24 before surgery and only 9 since. I can't wait for my body to kick it into gear!

I am so happy! After almost 3 weeks with no weight lost it has finally started again.
The doctor told me to drink more water I did and notthing. He told me to up my protien It was so horrible but I did and still notthing. Finally he told me to eat every two to three hours and SCORE!!! It worked I started that about 3 days ago and today I weighed in at a 4lb weight loss. I hope this will continue. I am so relieved I was actually to the point of tears a few days ago.

I had my lap RNY on the 27th of may and it has been almost 2 weeks since I have lost anything. In fact I gained a pound today. Who ever said calories in vs. calories burned equal wt lostt is an idiot. I'm not getting in my calories, my liquids or my protein, how can I not be loseing weight. I know the story about my body being in starvation mode/shock but it is still hard to accept.
My husband has to have a colonoscopy tomorrow and has to be on clear liquids today and he expects me to be sympathetic?
give me a break, only one day?
