I was not but on a pre op diet either. Maybe it has something to do with how much you need to lose? I only  new of one in my "group" that was on it. She was also doing band instead of  one of the drastic ones. How are things going now? Good for me I guess. Slower than I thought.

Hey!  I get my band on Thursday.  I am very excited.

Stay strong and you will do fine.  You can do it

It really varies by doctor.  I was originally going with one doctor and he had me just do something the night before and liquid afterwards.   The doctor I am going with said I should do muscle milk lights the week before.  My understanding is that they want your liver to be "fat free" and easy to get around.  It also depends on how much you need to lose how hard it will be (akja a how fatty your liver will be) and need to get around.

It's tough, I'll admit it.   I have a horrible headache (I've had three milks so far today which is only 300 calories).  I think the headache is from alergies though.  I am trying to drink a lot of water to keep full.

I had a really bad headache for the first two days and now it's all better. Yes all docs are different. I go to the military hosp and it is a teaching hosp so 3 different docs, 3 different pre diet. So if I talk to someone in my same clinic but different doc, we will have a different diet. Now talking with my Aunt who had the lapband (different hosp all together) her doc put her on a 2 day liquid diet and then liquid for 14 days post op. I have a fatty liver, you may not. Lucky you!

Hi!  I'm new to this forum - my surgery is on the same  day as everyone elses.  I'm on a 2 week liquid diet - nothing but 6 sugar free carnation instant breakfasts/day.  It's been rough for sure.  the first 3 days were the worst.  Yesterday was my b-day so I allowed myself a "cheat" and went out to dinner with my family - I feel like crap this morning - apparantely my body prefers carnation instant breakfast.

Wednesday can't get here soon enough.  I don't understand how they can expect us to be on 600 liquid calories for a week!  I am following it to a t, but I have to admit, I don't feel so hot.   Question for  you, do any of you have kids and if so, what did you tell them.  I haven't said anything to mine yet but they ask why I'm not eating dinner (I am still coming to the table to preserve some normalcy).  Right now, I just have said I'm not really hungry.

How old are they?  Mine are 9 and 7.  I just told them that I am on a serious "get healthy" diet.  I will explain more as it goes along because I am not sure who, outside our house, I want to know and my child can't keep a secret for nothing!

They are 8,8 and 5. I am doing everything i can to control my temper around them because I know it is me that is cranky and not their fault. I have to say though, I am actually getting use to the liquids. Other than the number it is doing on my stomach, I am really hanging in there.
