I know this may sound dumb but how do you put the ticker in your signature.. I have never been very good at that.

I could have SF jello, pudding, crystal light, tea and coffee with artificial sweetener, diet sodas, broth, grits, cream of wheat, yogurt........stuff like that.  I am also one of the lucky ones that only have 10 days and I get to have baked or grilled skinless chicken or fish.  Since tomorrow is surgery I can only have clear liquids today. I can also have SF ice pops.

I have handled it better than I thought that I would....the worst days were the first 2 and I have had a rough day here and there but all in all it hasn't been as bad as I expected.

I hope that this helps!

Wanda,

I wish you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.  I know everything will be just fine and you can save a spot on the loser bench for me.

I am now on Day 2 of my 14 day Liquid Diet.  I think Day 2 is going to be a little harder than Day 1 but anyway.        I have 4 protein shakes a day and crystal light inbetween.  Yesterday my total calories were 1090, carbs 92, protein 144g and 100oz of water/crystal light.  I am 3 lbs lighter today.

Less than 24 hours to go until my RNY!  I am ready but must admit that I am a little nervous.  My surgery is at 7:45 but I have to be at the hospital at 6:00am.  A little early for me.....but I'll make it. I've cleaned the house, washed the clothes, packed my bag......I think I'm about done.  I'm planning on taking my little girl and my dogs to my parents tonight and my husband and I will be staying at a hotel near the hospital since it is about an hour away from home.  I'm hoping that the time will pass quickly with all that is left to do!  Anyway, I'll see you guys in a few days with an update!  Until then, congrats and good luck everyone!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery, I have my surgery on May 25.  I started my liquid diet yesterday.  It has been kind of a rollercoaster, you excited when you start the process then again when you get your approval and now again that I am within 2 weeks.
I started my process Aug 08

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery and may you have a speedy recovery

I have heard that it only takes 6 days to shrink your liver, though I could be wrong.

I was wondering what your daily meals look like for your pre op. How are you handling being on nothing but liquids?

I know how you are feeling, I am only 9 days out and I am really starting to get nervous, but then I think about  why I am doing this. To better myself and I start to calm down. Though I know when it comes time to go into the room I am going to cry like a little baby. Good luck to you.

Well I am 10 days out from having RNY (May 22nd). I am finally starting to get excited about the process. I started out very gung-ho, but as you know the approval process can be somewhat lengthy and I started to lose some enthusiasm.
Now that I am starting the 10 day protein diet leading into the surgery I have been putting together some post-op recipes into a little cookbook. Between that and browsing the before and after photos and blogs I am really feeling good about the upcoming procedure.
I am going to take some before photos now because I really want to see the changes....
