I had surgery on May 6th and I was able to take a shower on May 8th before I went home from the hospital.

hi all- thanks so much for your concern. I just hope I can get this straightened out before Friday- if not I'll have to put my surgery off until Fall, as I won't be able to get time off over the summer.

Wow...my Doc is more strict...
Weeks 1-2 protein & clear liquids
Weeks 2-3 full liquids
Weeks 4-5 Pureed
Week 6+ soft solids progressing in amount and chewiness in 2 week increments.
Can't even have puree for 4 weeks!!! I am bummed out. I wonder why there is such a difference across programs?

I am not hungry either and have to make a concious effort to eat. I use shot glasses with the measures on them to measure my food/liquid. Each one is like an ounce and a half, which is about my full point at one time. Be sure your drinking so you dont become dehydrated.

Im sorry to hear about that. But it is better to catch any potential problems pre~op than have something go wrong during surgery or recovery. I hope it is nothing and you can continue on your journey.

I had sponge bath's at the hospital. When the drain was taken out before I left the hospital, my doc said I could shower once I got home.

I'm sure you'll have a stress test to see if there are any changes in your EKG. The exact same happened to me and I had my surgery last week.
