Not that I have first hand experience but have seen lots of posts where people have gained weight because they are really pumping the liquids in you. But I know I don't want to come home weighing more but I guess it is just part of the process.

I use Spirutein, its got lots of flavor mixes. Some flavors you can't use because they contain milk, but the Banana and Strawberry mixed with water/juice and crushed ice are very yummy. I get mine from the betterhealthstore.com. My 10 yo daughter likes the s'more and double crunch chocolate (or something like that). Maybe some flavor they have would do?

I'm the opposite I'm forcing myself to eat what is on the recommened list that I was discharged with. I'm just not hungry and I'm so afraid to try something and it not settle for me. I suggest if you want to chew something maybe some SF jello at least it gives you the chewing satisfaction..

The nurse at my dr.'s office said I could take one the next day. My surgery is tomorrow so I plan and stinking all day tomorrow after surgery. Don't think I will care what I smell like but I know I will be ready to take one Tuesday.

I was able to take a shower 48 hrs after sugery. The bandages got wet, and the nurses just pulled off the bandages and left the steri-strips (and didn't replace the over dressings)

I had my surgery on the 13th, got home on the 17th. I was sooo huge after the surgery, my belly was so hard and in so much pain. I weighed myself when I got home to find I had gained 27 lbs! Has anyone else had this out there? I've only been drinking water or broth, so I don't think its real weight gain. Any info appreciated.... thanks in advance!

This is a stressful time and a life changing event. It is normal to have the feelings your having. I know for me I have had since Aug of last year to do research and I know this is the right thing for me. I have also asked my surgeon so many questions you could think of, I think everytime I had an appointment with him he would just sit down and say ok bring the questions on.
I wish you the best on your upcoming surgery.
