Topic: RE: did/does anybody remembering feeling this way before surgery
Hi,
I am just starting the journey. I have my first visit with the surgeon on the 12th. I can understand where you are coming from. Until I decided to go through with the surgery I didn't care what I looked like and I let people walk all over me and make rude comments. one day I was out shopping and there was this new black van parked next to us. I got a real good look at myself and was in shock. I turned around and said is that really me? Istarted to feel annoyed and upset I let it go so far.
On the other side of the coin I finally truely accepted who I am and felt good that I am doing something. This gave me confidence and I started sticking up for myself. The other day we were out and someone was making rude comments and I had no trouble going up to that person and telling them what I thought and it felt great. n a way knowing that you are doing something about it gives me a sense of empowerment.
As I said I have just started the journey and already ame starting to feel the rollercoaster of emotions. Hope the surgery went well and good luck on your journey

Topic: RE: Itchy red skin around incisions
I haven't had the surgery yet but Are you allergic to latex? I get itchy with bandaids on too. Even socks that had latex in them itch. Does the glue they use have latex in it??
Topic: VSG tomorrow...here I go!
Wow! I can't believe this is really happening. I'm starting a whole new life beginning 05/29/2009. Thanks to the forums, blogs and people on obesity help I am well informed and less nervous than before. I'm going to work like hell to get the weight off, get rid of hypertension and diabetes...I'm just sorry that it took so long to get to this point and I didn't "do" something about it sooner. Bless you all and see ya at the losers bench! Sterno.
Topic: RE: Anyone kinda blue after surgery?
One thing my Surgeon told me is there will be days when I will say "why did I do this to myself" and I know it has been less than a week and I just want to see progress, when I came home from the hospital I was 15 lbs heavier and that was a little depressing. I had to go thu 2 weeks of liquid diet and I lost 11lbs one surgery and now starting back at the beginning . I know this was and is something I wanted to do for me so I am putting up with these little things for now.
Topic: RE: Blister?
I would go with what the Surgeon says. I know if I had blisters I would call my Surgeon because it just sounds different, it you are looking for more answers xpost this question on the RNY forum.
Good Luck

Hi Karen
Yes it is normal. Something many people have experienced after WLS. Many programs have councelors on staff to help, you may ask your Doc if they offer that type of thing. It will get better, I am just now to a point where I am not tired so much and feel 100X better. Good Luck!
