Hi Sandy,
Your question is a good one for all of us who had surgery about the same time. I lost 19 pounds during the month before surgery. I'm now 6 weeks post op and have lost another 30 pounds for a grand total of 49. Am I happy with my weight loss so far? YEAH!!!!
I've only had 2 bad food experiences and like you I think I may have been eating to fast. The other problem I've had and still having is getting my fluids and protein in. I'm never hungry and eat because I have to and I get so busy at work I forget to drink. I'm trying to do better and still supplementing my diet with protein shakes. As far as foods, I'm still eating more soft foods but experimenting a little bit but chewing, chewing, chewing. My surgeon's PA told me everyone progresses differently and if I need to stay on soft or well chopped foods longer to do so.
Exercise is another thing I'm working on. I've been walking, but am now getting on the treadmill and some weights. I've always hated exercise and pretty much still do, but it's another thing I have to work at. I hope I become one of those people who turn into gym addicts. Not quite sure that will happen, but one can dream.
Congratulations on your success so far and to everyone else who is on this journey. We're all in this together. Here's to us.....
For me I started soft foods 1.5 weeks ago and have had 3 bad food experiences mainly from not chewing or eating to fast. Since I lost 40 lbs pre-op I have been losing slower post op but so far I have lost 17 lbs since surgery and am happy with my total loss.
Wishing all of you lots of success on your plan
Sandy

How is Wii Active? I really want to buy it but I have to buy a Wii first and I don't want to spend all that money yet. Do you feel like you get a good workout with it?
I have the Wii Fit & the EA Sports Active, so I do the EA Sports 3-4 days a week, and use the Wii Fit off an on (mostly to weigh). I also have a treadmill & recumbant bike & some weights, so I change up my exercise routine often.
It's funny because I have access to 3 gyms on Ft Sill (hubby is in the Army) but I would rather do it in the privacy of my own home/room than go tot he GYM and deal with other people. Maybe farther out or if I had a GYM Buddy I would go to the gym.. But for now I am doing well on my own.

I got the same info from my surgeon, nothing besides walking for a while but it's just not enough. I figure, treadmills, eliptical machines and bikes aren't really that intense so I'm doing it! I will wait for two more weeks before I start with any weights because I don't want to risk anything with those. I've only been twice (yesterday and today) and it's been good so far. I have gone for about 45 each time.
I love the idea of the Coach bag reward system! One of my rewards is an expensive purse but that won't be for a while. I'm starting out smaller!
After surgery I was told nothing but walking for 8 weeks. I am bord out of my mind with the treadmill, and I have that at home so I haven't been into the gym. I want to try ou****er arobics I think I would enjoy that more, but another couple weeks before I can do that... sighs.
I am sure my lack of intense activity is why my weightloss is so slow.
Considering that I just started this process a little over 2 months ago and I am already 40% to my goal!!!
