Topic: RE: 3 months today...tell me how you are doing!!!!
My doctor and insurance have the policy of waiting the 90 days. Plus, I did have restriction up until 4 weeks ago....so I'm just cutting back on calories but keeping my protein intake high....come on Sept 8th!!!!!

Why did the Dr wait so long for your first fill? I had mine after 4 weeks. It was only 2cc but it helped. I am not saying that you are not doing great you are but when we spoke at the restaurant you said you did not feel restriction. Why didn't he/she do one after 6 weeks. Did he wait the 90 days because any fill done in those 90 days after surgery he/she would not receive an other dime because the insurance company considers it part of the surgery?

Wow I can't believe 3 months has gone by so quickly!!!! It's been a wonderful journey so far. I'm down 27lbs and 7 inches (last measured 6 weeks ago) I feel amazing!!! I'm exercising 30 mins a day 5-6 days a week. Not sleeping nearly as much due to all the energy I have!!! Hopefully within the next couple of days I will re-take my measurements and things will have lessened!!!
I go for my first fill September 8th....I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I have no restriction at all at this point...will be glad to start losing again!!!!
How is everyone doing that had their surgery on May 19, 2009????

Hi Mayers! It's hard to believe that three months has come and gone for me. I think it is such a personal experience and we all lose differently. You will lose, you have to. I am happy with my loss, but I started out a lot heavier than most at 360. I am now where most of you began or more! LOL
Just think, we'll be back here checking in and pretty soon we all be working on those last few pounds to get to goal, and some may be in maintenance, or some even trying to not lose anymore.
WE CAN DO IT!!

Its wonderful to hear from all of you. I am not as down as I was--the Doctor and the nutritionist seemed to think I was right on target and doing great. I must be losing all over my body, because I can't really tell that I have lost over 50 lbs in 3 months. I am still wearing the same clothes, but they aren't leaving seam lines on my legs and torso now.
Last night I did notice that I can fit in the chairs at the bridge game better, and the seatbelt in the car keeps creeping up past my waist (I used to be able to tuck it under my stomach and it would stay down).
I have walked every day since month 2. I am up to a mile or so a day. Everyday, I walk a little further--a few feet, at least--like to the next tree or fence post. I plan to join a health club in our community sometime this week, so I have a plan for the winter.
I really want this to work. I worked very hard in the past on various diets, behavior modifications, therapy, support groups, etc. and it did not work on a permanent and well-rounded basis. I want it all--physical health, emotional health, and spiritual health. I have high hopes for using this tool successfully, and with the help of the professionals in my Drs. practice, the support of my family and friends, and with the sharing from all of you, I think I can make it.

Wow, reading this has made me feel a lot better. I was depressed reading other places that people were losing 60, 70 or more pounds in the first 3 months. I couldn't figure out why I was failing so badly. I am down 53 pounds since I started everything, 45 since surgery. I got tomorrow for my 3 month post op. So we will see what the Dr thinks.
I am discouraged because my cloths are not just falling off me and dropping sized like crazy. For 50 pounds down I had hoped to be down more. My 28's fall off, but I am still in the 26's and 24's. I was able to buy a new sweatshirt this weekend it was a mens XL that made me happy. I just look forward to being able to shop in normal stores and I am just not there yet.
As for food, it is a blessing and a curse. I don't dump. I can eat ice cream, chips, cookies in small amounts. Sugar doesn't seam to bother me, but I haven't tried to see what my limit is either. I can eat a scoop of ice cream and have no ill effects, one cookie, and a few chips. But I can't drink milk, eat tomatoes or lettuce. Those three things make me instantly ill. I am still drinking 2 protein shakes a day, and eating 3 meals that are about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of food at a time. I try to log my food each day just to make sure I am getting everything in. It really helps with the head issues to log everything. As does the measuring and weighing food.
So that is where I am right now, I hope when I go tomorrow all my labs are good and they don't need to add any more supplements or vitamins ugh... Still have trouble swollowing some pills so paying an arm and a leg for chewable vitamins still.

I'm almos t3 months out and have lost 43 pounds, which is faster than I expected. I lost 30 pounds before I changed clothing sizes, but now I am changing sizes quickly. I also lost almost 40 pounds before anyone noticed I was losing weight (I'm tall). I've been stalled for the past 10 days, which exactly coincides with how long it has been since I exercised. I usually exercise A LOT, so clearly that is a critical component for me. This is the first stall that has left me really discouraged and I have to remind myself this doesn't need to happen all at once! It actually helps me to hear others feel the same.
