some docs do keep their patients on clear liquids for a week post op. I only need to have them while I'm in the hospital.. week 1 and 2 post op are full liquid/purees... week 3-8 is soft foods, then regular bariatric diet after that. All the surgeons are different.. I'm glad I don't need to do clear liquids after surgery..
You should see if the Nature's Best® Isopure Zero Carb drinks are on your clear liquid list. They contain protein in them.

Today I had my pre-op visit with the NUT and went over my 2 week liquid diet that was not really a surprise on what I could have. What surprised me was my post -op diet for week one. I am only allowed clear liquids, for some reason I thought I would be able to have my choc protein shake with water but I can't it needs to be clear liquids for a week. So when I got home from my visit I went on line and ordered a few different protein waters. I have Unjury chicken soup and unflavored protein I can add to my Crystal light. Just guess I didn't read the 1st week information that clearly.

With my boss and co-workers I just told them I was having a surgery and didn't mention what it was for. I happen to work from home, but I do go into the office from time to time and have a few friends that I did tell I was having WLS, I brought up that I was going out on disability and having the surgery. All of them were very supportive. They all know that I have been on a diet since I had to do a 6 month weight management program and was having at least 2 Dr appts a month.

I have a date of May 19 too!!! 
I had my pre-op appointments today and got pre-registered at the hospital. I'm a little nervous but mostly excited!!! I'll be thinking of you and will look forward to reading your posts to see how everything went! Best of luck and feel free to message me if you want to talk specifics!

Topic: How do you talk about WLS with coworker?
I know that there are probably many who don't talk about WLS at work. But I am a pretty talkative person and also work with a nice group of people. I have still been somewhat hesitant in bringing it up. I am going out on medical leave and wanted to know how some of you have brought it up or discussed the time off with coworkers? Thanks

Hi everyone
Anyone having surgery at Yipslanti Barix on the 27th?? For a host of reasons I wont get in to, If I am able, I may go to my surgery solo and was wondering if there was anyone who was going the same day and maybe stay in the same hotel in different rooms. I am just looking for someone to check in with on occasion.

Hi I have the same surgery date of may 19, I just started my liquid diet yesterday and I have been really hungry!! LOL so we can keep each other posted and I will pray for you that you will have an uneventful surgery!! God Bless
