When can you take a shower

Can you take shower at hospital? or just a sponge bath?

I had sponge bath's at the hospital. When the drain was taken out before I left the hospital, my doc said I could shower once I got home.

 I had surgery on May 6th and I was able to take a shower on May 8th before I went home from the hospital.

I had my surgery on May 12 and showered in the hospital on May 13. Basically you don't rub on the incisions, but if they get wet you pat them dry with your towel.

I was able to take a shower 48 hrs after sugery.  The bandages got wet, and the nurses just pulled off the bandages and left the steri-strips (and didn't replace the over dressings)

The  nurse at my dr.'s office said I could take one the next day.  My surgery is tomorrow so I plan and stinking all day tomorrow after surgery. Don't think I will care what I smell like but I know I will be ready to take one Tuesday.

I took a great shower before I went home... I am glad I did because after my 1 1/2 drive home I needed to rest on the pain meds.

PS I felt safe in the hospital where help was there for me if needed.

I showered as soon as I got home from the hospital!
