May 14th - Lap Band
I am right there with you, but I finally came to the conclusion that I chose band surgery because it is less invasive and I'm sticking with it. Another advantage that I see is that with the band you can go back FOR YEARS to have fills. So if you start to gain a few pounds you can go get a fill rather and try to get things back under control before we get back to the point we are at now.
Bypass patients don't have that option without a revision. Some even get banded later, so I think I've thougth it through enough and am happy with my choice.
Only a few more days!!!!
Keep in touch and let me know how your surgery goes.

Hi Sabrina. I really am happy with my decision. I chose the lapband because I didn't want to have issues with malabsorption of vitamins, etc. later. Plus, when you look at the data, banders do lose as much as GBers, it just takes a little longer. I think I'm just getting a little nervous about the whole thing- what will I do without my main coping mechanism (eating)? I will be in support groups and therapy. And of course I'm starving.... third day of opti-slop here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. It's got to be- I'm a nurse and have to work 12hrs Monday and Tuesday.
I will keep in touch! You do the same!
