Topic: I need some help!!!
I am trying to find out more about the procedure to remove the apron. I am not a good candidate for the total tummy tuck due to all the massive scarring I have from having 2 weightloss surgeries as well as other surgeries. Pleasae feel free to email me at [email protected] Hurry I haven't much time because my surgeon is afraid that this basketball size hernia is becomming incarcerated!

Topic: RE: Plastic surgery after weight loss
I am 3 yrs out now. I had two weightloss surgeries. Definately research this as much as possible! Although I have lost 140 lbsit hasn't been easy! I thought long and hard before having my surgeries and convinced myself that I knew all that I needed to know about the procedures. I was wrong! Today I am still learning about some of the long term effects that no one ever told me about.. nor did I ever read about. I am happy with my weightloss but it has come with some other costs..... even now I can't get enough vitamins, still can't eat the the things that I should be able to have now, hairloss, dry skin, tooth decay and loss. Medicare/medicaid paid for both of my surgeries so I was lucky there. I have had 3 hernia's and now a 4th which is basketball in size. Medicare/medicaid still wants to consider the removal of the pendilum as cosmetic even though all the doctores say it is medically to my benifit to have it removed because I will just continue to re herniate. The best advice I have to you or anyone else out there is really think long and hard, research research research! I can also honestly say that I no longer need much insulin and I no longer have to sleep wearing a cpap mask. Now I am trying to learn about removing this hideous apron and so far.. I don't feel that I have learned anything. God bless you and yours and good luck which ever choices you make. This procedure truly is a life altering descion and should not be taken lightly.

I had my lap band on 5/7/08. I have been living on water, sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello. With a little chicken broth. I don't really feel hungry but I miss eating. Am I alone?

Yes, I do!!! I am finding myself brushing my teeth several times a day just to get rid of the nasty fuzzy, dry tongue feeling. And I think the bad breathe part comes from all the protein. So just keep that SF gum and breathe spray handy.

Good luck Jessica!! I know what you mean about the anesthesia. It too was my only real concern. I freak that I'm never gonna wake up again or something. That and I get pretty sick from it upon waking up. But I told the anesthesiologist that right away and he was able to give me 3 different meds before I even woke up to help with it. I was just really really tired and slept A LOT in the hospital. The walking will help with gas. That was my only pain complaint. We'll save you a nice warm spot on the losers bench...

Oh, duh, yeah good idea. I thought I looked at the low carb slimfasts and I didnt' recall them saying they were that high in protein but woooohoooo if they are! I am definitely going to re-check those. I bought the Boosts before surgery and didn't even think about the sugar level, argh!

Topic: RE: HELP THERE WASNT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS MUCH PAIN!
Did you have open RNY? I know a friend that had open and she had to have a girdle afterwards for support. I had laprascopic and the only pain I felt was the gas pain more in my upper chest but it felt like my rib cage was gonna explode. Call your surgeon's office ASAP! There has to be something they can do or say to help you out. Hope things get better soon!
